Not necessarily, but if I show up in the woods, there's gonna be evidence linking me to the crime (phone records, my tire marks on the ground, evidence on my vehicle, etc....). Observer effect - You can't observe a system w/o changing the system. So if my presence is already made at the crime scene, I'm involved at that point.
