NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Ain't nobody "hating" on Young Thug. It's just nikkas is tired of u nikkas supporting cheating ya way to the top. Im def not surprised @CrimsonTider supporting this fraud shyt. It's like nikkas don't wanna work hard to earn something no more. Would rather take short cuts with everything. It takes away from the people who actually do earn it. If Young Thug legitimately got his plaques I would :salute: him. This ain't the case. I don't support fukk shyt. But I'm also def not surprised at fukkbois supporting it tho.

You know damn well people criticize actors, athletes, whoever the fukk and nobody asks "where is your movie?" or "where is your NFL contract?"

C'mon son with this weak logic.

Anyway, as far as the thread....the RIAA is a business. Literally, they make money off artists going gold, plat, whatever. The artist or label pays a fee and the RIAA audits how much the record shipped (or in this case, streamed) then hands out a certification based on that.

A (up until streaming) mostly obsolete business because hardly anybody was going gold or plat. This is a way for them to keep making money. I'm not knocking their hustle....I'm not even knocking artists for accepting the plaques, why wouldn't they? But some of you fans sound retarded. It's in the RIAA's best interest to finesse the numbers and hand out as many plaques as possible, because it's essentially free money for them. They ain't doing this shyt to be fair to artists, or because nobody is selling and they're trying to be "fair". You really think they're handing out plaques left and right out of the kindness of their hearts? :mjlol:

It's not logic that is used in any adult conversation unless people are caping. Cut the bullshyt out. If you were watching the Superbowl and somebody threw an interception people are going to talk big shyt about the QB. NOBODY is going to sit there talking about :mjcry:"b bu but when did you play in the Superbowl?"

The shyt would literally never happen. You cats gotta stop getting so defensive and emotional over rappers that don't even know you exist.

You are literally framing an argument so you can win. That SB hypothetical makes no sense in the context of this thread.

This thread is talking about making music so appealing that is streamed 1.5 billion times.

You just wrote out some Bullshyt about people second guessing a mistake a QB made.

That's not weak logic when he's saying that Young Thug didn't have this many streams because the label is using bots to push this stream number.

This is the same shytty logic about voter fraud. :stopitslime:

Criticize him for making a plaque for his web streams. Criticize the RIAA and billboard for attempting to maintain relevance by allowing streams to count as album sales.

Hell, criticize his music but don't use that weak ass argument that his streams are all fake. When I asked for receipts he says he is offered bots to stream his music every day. So I ask, if it's that simple where's your plaque? I want receipts.

See that's the problem Hex, you're saying an opinion based criticism of an artists quality of work is the same as saying the artist is fronting about his number of streams without any receipts

But you always frame arguments the same way. I know your clearly industry. And it must suck seeing people become privy to music industry tactics because of the current crop of hip hop artists. Lol. Good job.

And I think a lot of artists don't use bots because it's most likely expensive. A lot of artists out there want to actually make it for rel al like great legends of the past. Not fake it so they can get acclaim that will most likely blow up in there face as frauds always get exposed.

The shyt ain't gotta be all or nothing though. It ain't gotta be "I fully agree with this" or "all his streams are fake". There have been several articles written on why this streaming numbers game is sketchy. Are they all haters too? Are we gonna ask where their plaques are?

It has nothing to do with Young Thug specifically. But this caping for the RIAA is :dead: as fukk. They don't give a fukk about artists, and you ain't necessarily a "hater" because you're questioning these numbers. For any artist. RIAA gets paid when an artist goes gold or plat, that's why they changed the rules. Asking "where's your plaque?" is silly. Especially when RIAA is the same machine raping artists left and right....but nah, I'm sure there's no ulterior motive here so let's just accept anything they tell us at face value. :mjlol:

And I said those are valuable critiques. But this isn't about calling for the RIAA.

the statement was, "so we're going to pretend people listening to your music 1.5 billion times isn't impressive?"

To which he answered, "No."

That's hater shyt. And you caping for him ain't :dame:.

1.5 billion is a lot. But if I leave Spotify running I probably give artists dozens of hits and not even listen to it. Or even like it. Who is going to buy a CD that they think they won't like? It not apples to apples at all. I can listen to artists for FREE. Why should that count as a sale?

At the end of the day. Today's artists star don't shine as bright as In the past. And it's NOT due to how music is consumed.
