Citizens of Gotham
Moviegoers today have much lower expectations for quality dialogue than they had in the past, citizen. The popularity of literature has sadly declined in our culture. People are raised on a diet of movies instead of having to think for themselves and use their imaginations while reading great tomes. These movies are also designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, so anyone with respectable intellect, like the wonderful philanthropist Bruce Wayne, will feel their intelligence insulted in the movie theater.

The Robin reveal in this film is cheaper, cornier, and more low-rent than anything in my 1960's movie, which is legally available on Netflix, citizen.

He has a point since he finds the Bat cave at the end and Bruce retires (body going to the shyts and all)

You said it yourself it would have been better if he revealed himself to be Terry McGinnis or any dude that replaced Batman.

edit: WAIT A SECOND... Batman was actually replaced before? the fukk. How is anyone BUT Bruce batman?

Looks like someone actually wants to be a comic nerd after all. lol

I'm not against it

I rather get into the cartoon first tho. Comics never been my thing

the only Comic I ever owned was some random Dragon Ball Z comic I got from my friend in like 6th grade, and he only had it because it showed Bulma's t*ts

I'm no comic book head but I thought it was a little forced.

I don't think they even needed that scene. It was clear without actually saying it that the Blake character was Nolan's take on Robin.

But it's whatever. Like you said the reveal had the theatre going :ohhh:

I ain't read comics since the 90s and thought the movie was terrible.

The Robin shyt wasn't even the worst thing involving that character. The worst shyt was JGL randomly asking Bruce is he Batman "because I seen a look in your eyes" or some silly ass shyt, and Bruce was like "yeah, I'm Batman".

The fukk is the point of wearing a mask if you cop out to the first person that asks you?

Whole movie was full of :snoop: moments.

It is a little hard to imagine Robin working in that universe, so the idea had to be limited to that gag at the end. But Joe’s character is very important to the story. In any movie you need a character looking at proceedings the way you see them, and Joe’s character is that character for this film. One of my favorite scenes is when John tells Bruce how he knew he was Batman. It’s like that scene in The Prestige where the little kid sees through Christian’s trick. Little kids, they don’t have any illusions, they just see the truth of the situation. I feel there’s a kind of spiritual connection between the two movies there.

That's how I took it. The fact that was Nolan's interpretation of Robin makes sense for him to know Bats true identity.

That's all fine and well but it doesn't make sense for Bruce to admit to a complete stranger he's Batman. Keep in mind at that point in the movie Robin is a random cop, he's not "Robin", or anyone important.

I mean, they're kindred spirits so there is definitely a connection between the 2. I can see why Bruce wouldn't deny it. They both went through the same drama as a kid. I didn't have an issue with the reveal.

The end with him admitting he was Robin was more of a kop out...which I guess was a gag according to Jon Nolan.
