the only thing that sucks with metal is that shyt is basically a bunch of hairy dudes that are sweating on each other for 4 hours in a purple room.

not to say that ive had bad experiences at shows but shyts definitely for the younger heads.

i will say im pumped that i copped tickets for clutch's newest tour...but they playin with fukkin mastodon who are sold out ass punks. march of the fire ants :ohhh:

now they on this new tip... trashheap:camby:

prolly be no doubt my 30th time seeing clutch. blunts prepared homies. JP is god tier drummer

I like the old Ozzy(with Randy Rhoads :mjcry:),Iron Maiden type metal. Also I really fukk with the older thrash Metallica stuff, older Pantera

As far as the new stuff i'm kinda split..nowadays I tend to lean more towards slower groove metal..some would call it 'Stoner metal' like Red Fang..they videos be funny as hell.

Is helmet metal? I've always been a fan, but can't get down with most metal (except for easily stuff -- sabbath, judas priest, motor head and ac/dc - if they count).

My kid plays "unsung" on guitar.

I'm also a fan of fugazi and quicksand and similar bands ... not sure I'd consider them metal, but if they are, fine.

My kid plays guitar. 13 years old. Pretty good. When he gets to choose what he plays, he usually defers to me ... so a lot of 90s alt rock. I just want him to play punk, so he can teach me (I have a couple Gibsons -- but I lack the ability to teach myself to play anything but the simplest stuff).

See, that's weird ... love helmet, no interest whatsoever in Pantera. Helmet just has more of a post-hardcore sound, which I guess is what drew me to them. I realize it's all labels, and good music is good music.

I been depressed for a while so I been listening to Leviathan, Meshuggah, system of a down, marilyn manson, mudvayne. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to certain types of metal, but I can always listen to grunge and older rock. I slept on Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, love Alice in Chains, Nirvana. Somebody on this forum or :hamster: recommended Talking Heads :wow: love their shyt. Pink Floyd, Led Zepplein, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Rage against the machine, Nirvana, stays in rotation
