I was gonna surprise y'all with Pantera ...

But y'all brought some hardcore shyt in this :whew:

:mjlol::myman: we on some shyt over here.

@drhook94 i think youll like this band. Same drummer as Opeth (Martin Lopez...the one behind their best albums), similarly clean vocals and I think the same bassist from Death.

Unfortunately there are no growls. I actually think Growls would take this bands music to that next level but its more progressive metal than death metal. Very Tool-esque

I like the old Ozzy(with Randy Rhoads :mjcry:),Iron Maiden type metal. Also I really fukk with the older thrash Metallica stuff, older Pantera

As far as the new stuff i'm kinda split..nowadays I tend to lean more towards slower groove metal..some would call it 'Stoner metal' like Red Fang..they videos be funny as hell.

Check out the following albums:

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Metallica - Master of Puppets

See if you notice any distinction in music quality (riffing, solos, drumming, song structure, lyrics, etc) between those 3 bands and SOAD, FFDP and Disturbed. If you enjoy the albums and want to get further into the Metal genre as a whole from there, just drop me a mention.

I haven't checked out The Ocean yet, but I can confirm that Neurosis is that piff. Start off with Through Silver In Blood, if it doesn't click during the first listen just give it one more try and you'll be :wow:.

After you "get" that album, check out the rest of their stuff (specifically Enemy of the Sun, Times of Grace, and A Sun That Never Sets).

Also, check these albums out if you've never listened to them:

Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway
Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain
Boris - Feedbacker
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance (Brave Murder Day is their best album, but this release is probably a better introduction based off of what you already listen to)
never even knew you suggested this. I found it on my own :wow:

Finland is :whew:

wow i thought i posted in this thread before but yall up on some pretty decent shyt.

i bet im the whitest motherfukker up in here and most likely the largest metal head so if anyone wants some suggestions ranging from black metal/death/grind/doom/stoner to whatever id be more than willing to make a few recommendations. truly metal is my passion when it comes to beats but i fukk with everything. music truly is the only form of universal communication between cultures and races.

also if anyone is interested i might be willing to grant access to my google drive which includes terabytes of metal/punk/hardcore

lately ive been on a bit of a tech death kick...mainly these crazy fukks from tasmania, psycroptic. just original riffs for days...

since i been young ive always fukked with the NY & Philly hardcore/punk scene. Growin up in central jersey ive gotten to hear some of the best from all around...THE VENUES!

on that tip ive been fukkin with basically a new aged Helmet...band called Turnstile. Oh the nostalgia

i guess without getting to hipster and i try to shy away from hipster metal but Ghost Bath is a black metal band that basically shreds over post rock riffs. Think Rosetta with some dude screaming through a Styrofoam cup.

then ive also been fukkin with this israeli band Melechesh who has this real dope middle eastern sound to them.

but ultimately, since my fam is from NoLa ive always had a place in my heart for just depressive sludge Eyehategod, Acid Bath, Buzzoven, Soylent Green etc...

easily my favorite group is eyehategod...christ if i ever feel like murdering someone...this shyt better be playin the background
