Rick Ross and Pusha T- both near 40 still rapping dope dealer ducktales aimed at young fukkboys
I would throw 2 chainz in that category as well as far as being a 40 year old rapper making music for teens.
None of the artist you mentioned are purposely making music for teens tho. Its moreso them pandering to they core base. nikkas on the block/ratchet hoes. If you wanna say hey grow up then fine. But stop saying they making music so they can get a teenage fanbase

Wasn't Nas talking all that street shyt, mafioso bla bla when he never was a G in first place? Then all that baller shyt, Oochie wally and on.

People listening to metal are probably a lot smarter on average than people listening to conscious rap. I don't know how the spread is between conscious rap and ignorant rap though, but to think that conscious rap makes people smarter is just stupid. Why? Cause most of these rapper are not even half as smarter as an half ass high school teacher. Structural and social improvement is the only thing that can improve our wellbeing not some fukking dumb smart rapper.

Nas was still around that life though bro. His homey Ill Will was murked right after he dropped. The shooter almost hit Jungle too

Most rappers, almost all rappers "dumbed down" their sound, sometimes to make better music or sometimes times to sell more records. Some rappers can't dumb down their music, they don't know how to make hits. People give them cred but these dudes might not be able to make hits, that's a lot harder than making 'socially conscious' music.

Nas is from QB. It's incomparable to compare them. Plus the whole point is Nas is about something. You're a Drake stan though so of course you gonna defend this lol. And lol that's bullshyt, Hip Hop heads that are true are legit some of the most intellectual knowledgable people.

I'm not saying that he wasn't.

So why wouldn't he rap about what he's seen, been around and been involved with? You want to get heated about a rapper BSing drake's 360 with the wrist line is worse than anything Nas has said

He hasn't, but I don't applaud him for that, there comes a point where it's morally and culturally negligent to not being doing more. It is shrewd I guess, but there's more to life than money.

At what point is that though? .....

And these are your beliefs ....not necessarily Jay-Z's or those of older rappers

If it works, it sells, it maintains a lifestyle and employs people... who cares ?

There is more to life than art too.....:pharrell:

Chill b. This is a bait thread.

The entire mainstream hip-hop is a fukking fraud. Broke rappers talk intelligence and realness cos that's their last resort, when you ain't poppin, of course you gonna preach "I was bout that street smarts anyways" shyt.

Once you get the chance to get some of that :ld: money, you're quick to jump on that 808 kick snap snare radio single.

Gotta pay the bills yo

Even if you believe that fine. But there is a zero chance nikkas are in the studio trying to get teen fans. Majority of the shyt they rap bout is just shyt they're around mostly. Clubs/hoes/drugs. So nah im not gone knock em for speaking on it.
