Iāve said my piece on this one. I donāt think youāre being fair and objective on this. Trading Justin at that point would have been wild.I mean, when they started 0-4, it was plastered everywhere that the odds of making the playoffs were basically 0. It's not that unrealistic to tank after seeing how disappointing they started. We saw Poles execute a perfect tank job the previous season.
depends whoās available. probably trading back imoSo what we doing at 9?
I donāt think Poles viewed it that way either. I meant moreso some of these āfans.ā I understand why Poles did it. Like others have said, even if Caleb becomes a bust, it would be understood since heās been the consensus top college QB since last year.I donāt view Fields as a scapegoat and I donāt think thatās how Poles views it. We just happened to get the opportunity to draft at #1 overall in a draft where there is a serious highly touted QB talent. Itās widely agreed that he got a raw deal with his development in Chicago. I donāt think anyone questions that. He never had a fair shake.
I donāt understand the decision of keeping Flus tho. He shouldnāt be the guy being charged to develop a rookie franchise QB, itās just not his skill set. Curious decision by Poles
Justin wasnāt the scapegoatā¦ā¦weāre in the middle of a rebuildIt doesnāt sit right with me that Fields was made to be the scapegoat by so many while Flus kept his job. Did people catch amnesia with some of his decisions that directly caused the Bears to lose games? He was like the extreme opposite of Dan Campbell, philosophy-wise. Bears didnāt lose 10 games because of Fields. 7-10 is what most people predicted the Bears would be (I thought theyād be better if Iām being honest). Three games they definitely shouldāve won (Denver, Detroit on the road, and Cleveland) was because of that conservative, playing not to lose BS, that bit them in the ass. Three games that wouldāve made them a playoff team.
I HOPE for Calebās sake that he does become that dude and that one of these QBs picked after him doesnāt become better (which history shows is usually the case). With all these weapons, Iām expecting the Bears to have a winning record, rookie QB or not. Iām also glad Justin went to a serious franchise, with a HOF QB in the QB room with him, and with a black head coach.
this post coming from the guy that was convinced yesterday we were trading the pick for a āhaulāThey have his medicals and will be going through their medical team in the next week or so. Caleb is the pick.

a trade back is very likely IMO unless Odunze, or maybe Dallas Turner are on the board at 9 (unless they love an OT too)Gotta go Offense at 9. You committed to a rookie qb, we aint winning the sb next year anyway make sure breh has tools via WR or can stay upright via OT
Its fukked up JF came into such a piss poor situation but the game is the game he can bounce back
