Purdy should be an example of how a team with skill everywwhere and good coaching>>>>>>

Mahomes is worlds better than everyone and his numbers are extremely pedestrian this season

You dont even need fields to take a huge leap. The D is another Egde and replacing Bojack away.

Getsy is in over his head
you can still do that and take Caleb. it arguably would be easier to do while not paying a QB 40 million next year and having the rookie scale deal

Maybe but we know atm Fields floor is basically a talented middle of the road qb. That floor can raise.

Williams hasnt taken a snap. Who knows if hes dogshyt or not.

Im fine with whatever because whatever happens happens but it aint like williams is Luck or anything. That generational tag is fugazi

the inverse to that is you canā€™t be wrong if you stay with Fields. if Caleb is a superstar and Poles passed on both him and Stroud, we would need Justin to take another huge leap in his development and even then it still might not look good. Iā€™m surprised people are so down on Caleb here, itā€™s not like we are talking about replacing Justin with Derek Carr
No one thought Stroud would be this good though. Heā€™s having an all time rookie season. Also, even if the Bears took Stroud and traded Fields, remember, we wouldnā€™t have DJ Moore, we wouldnā€™t have Darnell Wright, we wouldnā€™t have Tyrique Stevenson. We still have Getsy as the OC.

if we go through the draft process and the consensus is that Caleb is an absolute stud, I really think Poles takes him

shyt, if we made the playoffs though ā€¦ šŸ‘€

Iā€™m always excited for a Bears game, but hype levels are high for tomorrow. Cleveland is TOUGH at home. Itā€™s supposed to be a rainy mess.

Need a big push from our front 7 on D. If they can dominate against a depleted Cleveland oline, we should be in good shape. Iā€™m worried Getsy will over correct the offense for tomorrow since itā€™s a good, aggressive defense in the rain and itā€™s gonna be one of those games that have us head scratching about the offensive game plan. We need to run the ball well. Need to slow down Garrett. Browns secondary is tough. Itā€™s gonna be a tough game

What if we donā€™t make the playoffs, but finish 9-8 or 8-9 after that disastrous start to the season?

Justin gonna have to make some plays on the run throwing outside the pocket. Hit a couple of big ones and I think yall can steal this.

I think Poles is in a win/win position.

And he's letting Fields decide it. Only because Caleb isnt the SLAM DUNK LOCK HOF QB he was projected to be.

Both Fields and Caleb hold the ball too long. However, with Caleb his throwing motion is just much quicker and he has better awareness of what guys are open.

However, Fields runs a 4.3/4.4 and Caleb MAYBE runs a 4.7. He's very twitchy and elusive but there are those questions if he fast enough to pull off those wild scramble throws consistently or will he get hawked. Mahomes only does those plays a couple times a gaime. At least his last year it seemed like Caleb was relying on it too much.

And even then Mahomes has Andy Reid to help him get the ball out of his hands on schedule.

I really dont know if Fields throwing is always going to keep him from being GREAT or not. He got injured against the Vikings cause his release was just too slow.

So it comes down to which is more likely to happen.

Can Fields process faster to overcome his release or can Caleb Williams play within structure/in rhythm.
Is it as simply as Fields can overcome his slow release by just knowing the offense better? If so then Bears are set with him.

Cleveland is tough at home. Great challenge for the Fields evaluation. He's got to process fast because Myles Garrett is coming after that arm.

Again talent wise Fields should be up there with the Trevor Lawrenece's Lamars and Josh Allen. Lamars release is just quicker and I'd say his mind is very twitchy on his reads.

Now in fairness, Lamar's had a different path. He had Bobby Petrino for 3 years. Marty Morningwhig/Greg Roman throughout his first 5 years. Not in over his head Nagy and learning on the job Getsy. Josh Allen had Daboll.

Ryan Pace really didnt have a plan when drafting Fields and he got caught up in new leadership. Still the flashes are there.
