Makes no sense to draft Caleb when we can continue building other areas. Almost every coach they play against always comes out the half saying they need to control Fields. There has to be a reason for that.
if Caleb turns into an MVP level QB youā€™re not gonna look back and think it made no sense to draft him. I really donā€™t think it would be shocking if we take him. Iā€™m not scouting these guys but the people that do are basically saying his potential is off the charts

Iā€™m just looking at this from Poles perspective. Justin still has some holes in his game but heā€™s obviously electric in other areas. This isnā€™t about dumping him to sign a shytty vet like Nick Foles, itā€™s because youā€™re bringing in Caleb Williams

Itā€™s a tough decision coming. If Justin wins out heā€™ll make the decision easy

Caleb Williams is a shorter version of Justin Fields. And Fields was a better college QB than Caleb. You guys should watch Caleb, he has flaws that will get exposed in the NFL. Just fire your coach. Get a king's ransom for the number 1 pick. Then draft Marvin Harrison JR, and draft all the top O-line in the draft.

And hire Eric Bienemy as your head coach. He'll do wonders for Fields. The talent is definitely there.

I still believe Fields is capable of getting better. I think this team still has some holes to fill and extra top picks with a top tier player like DJ Moore is hard to pass on.

I like this this option as well. Also, if Poles decides MHJ is a generational talent at WR and only trades down to 2 or 3 to get him (or even outright take him 1st) , sure

basically itā€™s all gonna come down to how Poles evaluates Justin & Caleb. good enough isnā€™t usually what these GMs want at QB if they think they have a franchise changing QB sitting there at #1, well, then they will chase that

basically we are in a great position any direction we go here

I know weā€™ve discussed this a bunch of times in this thread. One thing Iā€™ll say is look at someone like Aaron Rodgers. Heā€™s one of the top 5 QB talents of all time. He has 4 MVPs. Only one Super Bowl in his entire career.

When you look at the past 30 Super Bowls, only ten QBs were drafted in the top 5 (5 won it all). Of those ten, 7 were drafted in the past 30 years (3 won it all). Then if you go in depth and examine those QBs, look at the squads they had around them. Elway, Aikman, the Manning brothers and Stafford are the five winners.

Thatā€™s what I was doing a couple of pages ago Everyone knows I love Justin but from Ryan poles perspective he can draft Caleb, reset the rookie contract and get a pick from Justin I honestly think poles like Justin but having a cheap rookie deal is huge and Caleb upside is high maybe even higher than Justin

What do you think youā€™d get for Justin vs what youā€™d get for that top pick? I feel we could get more for trading the top pick than we did even last season.

You can legit get 3 first round picks this season but on the flip side if they feel like Caleb is a generational talent then he must be the pick

Justin can do things that maybe 3-4 other QBs can do in this league. Just a matter of putting it all together. If you put a great team around him, heā€™ll look better and the Bears will contend. You can take a chance on a ā€œgenerationalā€ QB with that top pick, but the team still has holes, and thereā€™s a chance he wonā€™t pan out. Alex Smith was taken with the top pick, and he didnā€™t. The generational QB of that draft was Aaron Rodgers who won 4 MVPs, but only went to the Super Bowl once. Patrick Mahomes is a generational QB whoā€™s struggling to get wins as of late because his receivers canā€™t catch and they make mistakes. At the end of the day, you need a team.

Id honestly say 1-2.

POLES IS NOT REPLACING FIELDS

Caleb projects to be HIM

Passing on him because you have a decent QB would be like the Bulls passing on Rose because they had Hinrich and Ben Gordon.
