Majid Jordan writing non Hip-Hop songs like Hold On We’re Going Home or Passionfruit isn’t the same as Jay-Z writing Still DRE for Dr. Dre or Big Sean writing a lot of the Graduation album for Ye.

I could see if reference tracks leaked for the timestamps records, but I don’t see how having pop-song collaborators makes you less hip-hop? For instance, if Ye had writers for 808s & Heartbreak I wouldn’t consider it as a mark against him as a MC since it’s not a rap or hip-hop album.
Drake has people writing his hip hop songs as well lol

He’s still making the same music from 10 years ago, he hasn’t grown at all. His fans just eating up what he drops cause it takes them to a time when he was in his prime. He’s in the crossroads now.

Drake made an album with a whole another genre, that shyt wasn’t hip hop.

Either he's still making the same music from 10 years ago or he isn't.

10 years ago is nothing was the same, arguably his other classic (so far gone, take care, nothing was the same or if you're reading this it's too late) and people would love to hear that again.

He's been deviating so much while still making great music is the thing that has people confused and not knowing where to put him and why he might be confused his own self.

But he's definitely not just been rehashing the same music over and over, outside of maybe subject matter but go into Pusha thread about him making the same shyt and you'll see "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" as a common deflection.

I genuinely have no clue why it's okay for one and not the other, even if the other is doing way more genres, doing different beats, etc.

Think he needs to change up his subject matter a bit and maybe take a 2-3 year break but that isn’t always good because another artist would eventually take his place. He’s not gonna be at the forefront forever. I’m sure most are just listening to his older music more than new stuff, that’s the case with most who like what they listened to before.

What makes you think that when her loss is still streaming the way it is?

Maybe when it comes to singles and playlisting but if anything, he shows that his new shyt stays in rotation regardless of any bubble that says it isn't (this forum, the Joe Budden podcast where Joe has been constantly wrong about that sza, Drake and sexy redd song)

He was the second biggest streamer on Spotify this month. You genuinely think that's people listening to take care or something when her loss is still streaming at the rate it is?

Drake hates gets to the point of willingly being out of the loop at a certain point. Just like when people said Views was the beginning of the end and that's 8 years old at this point.

I really don’t know I’m guessing some like the rapping more than the other stuff.

At the end of the day all music is supposed to evolve. Y'all try to pigeon hole these new artists into true hiphop and they aint. Drake is one of the best artists of the decade no one can say anything about that. He's had a crazy run and everyone vibes to his music because he makes a little something for everyone in the urban culture. This nikka mos def is weird he trying to back track because majority of his fanbase is white boys from the suburbs just like drake.
