he stated his point of view and people really got all upset over this?

it's like, you have to literally break it down in remedial terms for everyone to understand what you're saying word for word.

yasiin ain't saying nothing controversial but Hip Hop these days is so "you can't critique or have different opinion from the majority" that a lot of people start to overact when someone has a different opinion from the majority

He just clarified what he first said in the interview.

it was people who were reading into it more than what it is was and making something more than what it was, which was nothing more than a critique.
Nah. That’s a backtrack. Dude was dissing , clearly, the first time. Mos isn’t stupid. These guys are literary brainiacs. They know subtlety and nuance. That’s why he tried to sprinkle extra respect on all that.

he gave an honest critique of the man's work

it was fair and balance

just cause it doesn't align with how you see it, doesn't mean he was "dissing" or "hating"

this is the problem with rap nowadays.

everybody so above criticism

Stand on your square. If that's what you believe, that's what you believe. Could have just said "some of my comments were taken out of context and I didn't mean to disrespect him, but a lot of his music is pop."

I fukk with Mos but making that comment about shopping music/capitalism and then flying out to perform at a fashion show is wild. I am not a Drake fan by any means but it's hard to deny he has made a lot of music that appeals to various demographics of people. He's got songs my mom likes, he's got songs I like, he's got songs girls like, he's got songs the streets fukk with, etc. In a way that only a few rap guys have consistently done (Biggie, Jay, and Pac for instance). And before someone tries to downplay the dude...I don't care. The record stands for itself, he's got too many songs that many of us fukk with to simply dismiss in totality. If you want to get into rap convos about him as a rapper or the quality (or lack thereof) of most of his albums then that's another discussion.

Mos was out in Paris rapping for white people at a fashion show a week after he said Drake was a commercial darling. These dudes are Revolutionary Chic. Stop it.

Drake has a b-side collection only a few can compete with up there with Hov and Kanye (living). Throw snoop in there. It’s just not too many others who can do that. His album cuts are better than most artists lead singles.

He even invalidated the pop critique for giving props to his “rap” career. shyt was nasty and he looks EVEN CRAZIER for cleaning it up.
