Entertainment always supersedes. Conscious artists can make entertaining music, but they often neglect doing so because they think their message is more important. And it never is.

It wouldn't surprise me if Drake and his team have literally had discussions about how to make the kind of music that gets played in target.

Thats why his recent work (for close to a decade now) is good not great. Its always calculated and watered down to have that bland vibe that can be played anywhere. And somehow still sexist and offensive. 'Shopping with an edge' is well observed.
