From the deli at the grocery store or you going to some kinda specialty shop?

Most big groceries have decent to good blocked cheese in the deli area. Another thing I do is go to local delis. If you have an Italian deli or something that's a great place to go. Also some of the most expensive grocery spots like Fresh Thyme or Whole Foods tend to have really good deli options for cheese.

one thing stopping me is I don't have a big plastic container to hold the water? can I use a BIG ASS pot instead? I do have that.

Yeah you can use a pot, ive even seen people use igloo coolers. Just make sure you cover the top with like plastic wrap or something to keep the heat in and make it more efficient.

Dont know if youre a reddit guy but this is an excellent resource.

yeah i have a vacuum sealer, been having the foodsaver one for years.

i'd also recommend that you not get a chest freezer, get a vertical one because there is no bottom, you can see everything. i've seen deep freezers where people have to damn near empty it to see what they have at the bottom.

it makes sense to freeze entire meals individually. Soups, meat dishes with the sides. Have like 5+ different types of Meals in there at
Any given time. The time you save on not cocking again and not cleaning is incredible.

I was also gifted a sous vide, i use it weekly. For making steaks and chops its unbeatable. I think is the perfect method for cooking pork chops.

For steaks the way the fat renders (esp ribeye) you cant get any other way.

Did a chuck roast in there for new years (131 for 36 hours) and ive never had anything that compares to it.

Experiment with it, i've cooked damn near everything with it. Veggies are a go too, look up some methods for corn on the cob.

I keep saying I want to get a sous vide especially for meal prep. But I can't get over cooking in plastic
