He didn't want to teach the gentiles (white people) about the word of God, because when Jesus was living, he told his apostles not to..
But when Jesus died, he wanted his apostles to NOW go out and teach the gentiles..
So God used a vision of abominable meats, like pigs and shrimp, and told him to eat them.. A metaphor to say its ok to teach the dirty and unclean people..
So then you already know that when he told Peter this, he said
"stop calling 'unclean' the things God has cleansed."
At Mark 7:9-19 we see Jesus while he was on Earth before his death had already told Peter an'em that all food was clean - in that same instance (which people often misquote) where he told them "it's not what goes into a man that makes him unclean, but what comes out from him."
So the vision in Acts was not just a metaphor for Gentiles, but also a restatement that such food shown
in that vision was now clean.
