games been like $50 $60 bucks since the 90s. surprised games don't cost 100 dollars now.
truthfully i would've rathered they increased prices instead of trying to gut the games with pay to play features.
NBA 2k used to let you put a created player in mycareer mode. I could make a overall 99 from day 1. nobody trying to grind as a bench warmer in a video game.
makes sense in an rpg, but not sports.

fukk outta here they game put pay to play features and microtransactions I'm games no matter how much they cost dont try justify this bullshyt with that dumbass logic

They are dumb as hell if they think they can charge $70 next gen and still put out 50% finished/50% DLC, 10-hr games. Like this is laughable as all hell considering the amount of titles that barely justify $60 as is.

Could you imagine paying $70 for the first edition of SFV?

Them classic RPGs were insane back then. I remember paying $90 for Chrono Trigger.

N64 games were $80 a pop. In 1996 money.



Overall, I don't think this will be standard proving going forward. I think 2K is just taking advantage of what will probably be a shytty situation. I think they believe the shortages are going to be real, and what to max ROI on developing on four platforms instead of two. And to them, it's probably justifiable, as the part of their player base that's willing to buy a new console right now probably had considerable overlap with their players that are willing to have annual spend of over $200 between cost of purchase and VC.

Used games will make a comeback and we’ll see a slight drop in digital sales as a result if it becomes the standard. Games will damn near be half off after the first couple months anyway and with as common as sloppy day one releases are, it really isn’t gonna kill most people to wait for most titles unless it’s a personal favorite
