Exactly. You can tell the difference George made from when he was in the lead to Disney running the show.
Even if you find the originals corny the story structure and resolution in each episode is far superior.
With George direct involvement we got Episodes 1-6, Clone Wars tv show, Darth Plagueis novel (the writer work closely with Lucas to help build the story).
Also the videogame output has been

Nobody remembers that, they remember Luke defeating the dark side and Anakins redemption.
Compare this to the Snoke meeting
Again the originals had some corny shyt, but cinematically and thematically the last two star wars movies cant compare

If George only had people willing to point out his bad ideas and help focus the script on the prequel trilogy while shooting on sets and locations instead of green screen
The story resolved with the empire defeated. The teddy bears defeated a small invasion force, Lando blowing up the death star and Luke defeating the dark side liberated the galaxy.
The new trilogy brings the empire back with the why and how never answered and every episode so far has ended with nothing accomplished or explained.

Your adding your answers to plot holes that were never explained.
But to each his own I just think nostalgia blinds people to star wars. Empire strikes back is the only good movie.
What plot hole? The beginning scene of return is class. The ending scene of returns is classic. The middle has enough character development and action to bridge the two parts. A solid but not perfect conclusion to a trilogy in an industry where the third movie in a trilogy is usually the weakest.
Its objectively a good movie.
