What plot hole? The beginning scene of return is class. The ending scene of returns is classic. The middle has enough character development and action to bridge the two parts. A solid but not perfect conclusion to a trilogy in an industry where the third movie in a trilogy is usually the weakest.

Its objectively a good movie.

The Empire is more then just one person. If the result of the first death star didn't break them why did it a second time?
Billions of people but the galaxy was scared of this one guy?
But at the time they had to make it simple in get it.

I'll say this. The prequels were trash movies (shout-out to Redletter Media and their Plinkett reviews), but at least you knew where they were headed.
I don't know or care where they're going with the new trilogy.

The Force Awakens was a decent enough flick even though it had some major red flags.

The Last Jedi, on the other hand... :merchant:
Rey doesn't really work as the main character since she doesn't face any real adversity, struggles, flaws, or consequences for her actions. On top of that, she has no clear goal. She wants to be a Jedi because... ?
Kylo Ren is a petulant child with no clear motivation, so we don't buy him as a villain.
They character assassinated my man Luke. Mark Hamill was right about the way they did his character dirty :mjcry:
Finn? They clearly don't know what to do with his character ( :mjpls: )

The OG Trilogy are the only SW movies I really fool with, to be honest.

Actually most empires run by despots are just one guy or a committee. Same way the Third Reich was done once Hitler died. Doubtful that Palpatine and Vader carried any sort of loyalty beyond their ability to kill if you disobeyed.

Even the expanded universe allows for empire sympathizers and that the empire wasnt fully defeated. That wasn't the point of the end of the last jedi, the point was the light side defeating the dark side, the return of the jedi and the empire being defeated.

Nazi were done way before Hitler died.

But they simplified a complicated story and I get why.

I know who's watched Return of the Jedi countless times and who's watched it a few times from these responses.

First of all, I rank RotJ on the same level as Clones/Rogue One - so this isn't some nostalgic love for the OGs talking.

Second they did not beat the Empire, they beat one squadron.

Third the Ewoks were losing the shyt out of that fight, go rewatch it. They catch the Stormtroopers by surprise but once the surprise is over they pretty much get backed down instantly and killed by the dozens.

CHEWBACCA turns the tide by jacking a AT-ST. This throws the Troops off their game and they have no real answer to this because the first thing he does is take out the other AT-ST's (the Ewoks take out two themselves, but are shown to fail at fighting off all the others).

Yeah they're small and cute but their victory actually makes sense. The Empire was on their hometurf, the jungle meant no air support or AT-AT's in that dense part so once Chewie had an AT-ST it was a wrap.

It's like saying Lando and the Falcon took out the Empire in space - no they were losing and would've gotten killed if they didn't escape into the Death Star and destroying Vaders destroyer and then the Death Star threw the Empire off their game and they fled. Luke was losing to the Emperor until Anakin stepped in.

George was making a point here - they all would've lost their battles but their diversity gave them enough breaks. Droids helping humans, Ewoks helping humans, Wookie helping Ewoks, Sith Lord helping a Jedi etc.

Naw just jungle warfare along with the rebellion backing them up.
Come on man. If ewoks can give them trouble why did the rebellion have so mich trouble with the empire?

Y'all are really making excuses for this movie lol.
It was entertaining it does not have to make sense.
