I’m not gonna shyt on Purdy, he’s a good QB. But going forward without CMC, whose career may never be the same? I’m not sure I’m paying him 60mil to be just a guy. Niners are in trouble.

If you don't think he was playing elite ball last year then I don't know how you judge QB play. I also don't know who you're referring to critiquing elite QBs to prop up Purdy. Burrow isn't an elite QB, but has anyone said Purdy is a better QB than Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Herbert? He's in the next tier, but last year he was playing better than most of the elite QBs. He was a legitimate MVP contender. If that makes you and the fans of teams who hate the 49ers mad, I'm sorry, but it's all there on tape and in the stats.

I don't want to pay Purdy $60M/year. I wouldn't do that if I was the FO. And I don't think he will end up getting $60M.

It's one thing to say Purdy was playing better than Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes last year, but it's another to say he is a better QB than them. The former is true, which is why he was an MVP frontrunner into late last year and they weren't. Same as how Goff and Baker are ahead of Mahomes in the MVP race this year but they're not better QBs than Mahomes.
