I'll give Purdy some credit, he isn't a complete fukk up of a Quarterback. The problem with Purdy though, he doesn't elevate his team rather he needs a supporting crew. He isn't worth top-money even though he can QB a team to a Superbowl win. However though that brings up a unique situation... 1) The 49'ers need a Rebuild and 2) Purdy will want money because it's all about the 2nd Contract (even if it's not Top 5, he is the QB and a good chunk of cash will defer to that position).

I've watched every single game of Purdy's career. He's looked more "elite" than he has bad. He's creative with his feet, he throws well on the run and he throws with anticipation better than most...

This idea that it's all "YAC" yards is not even true because the first half of the season Purdy was top 2 in passing yards and top of the league in throws that travel beyond 20 yards in the air... all while the niners ranked dead last in YAC....

Last night they were without Trent Williams, so no o-line basically... they were with their 4th string running back... Deebo is playing injured.... and Aiyuk is out for the year.

At some point it's going to be hard to score when nobody is available.

What does this have to do with being an elite QB? The OL was ass and he was under pressure, trying to jump to get a new throwing angle. Not the first time a QB has done that. Lamar and Mahomes jump pass all the time when facing interior pressure.

49ers don't need a rebuild, we just need to be healthy and solidify the trenches through the draft and FA. CMC, Kittle, Aiyuk, Juan Jennings and Trent Williams are still under contract. Bosa, Warner and Lenoir are still under contract. Purdy's contract won't stop this team from returning to where we were last year.

If anything, Purdy suffers from being too aggressive and not checking down or taking the easy underneath pass enough. He can learn from the QB Mahomes has become.

Yeah I'm assuming CMC comes back full strength but that remains to be seen. And yeah Trent is on his last legs, we should draft his replacement with our first round pick. But point is, the roster isn't in rebuild mode, it's in retool mode.

I already outed the casuals in here. They sound like Skip Bayless more than someone with actual knowledge of what's going on...

...and I say that to say, I never once said Purdy was the best QB or a top 3 QB... etc.. Never said that. But there are only a handful of even decent QBs in the league.

That's why people get the contracts they do. Most QB's are complete ass..
