Having useful combos is more important than having Rares. Use Rares by all means but long as you have a nice array of elements and archetypes you'll be able to get seals off triple combos then get elemental bursts on chain attacks. Just saying having the diverse elemental setups will help you a lot more than having 3 rares that don't help you set up combos.

If you do it right you'll be chipping a boss away then do this halfway through and literally take the rest of the health off in 2 seconds lol.

I've cracked the system to where I can strategize my way through enemies like 10-15 levels past or so cause you get so much damage off pulling it off right.

Another tip I've been using NIA to heal. Found myself dying in a boss fight cause the AI mostly follows whats best for the next move in a combo chain. I had one tank on NIA thinkin she should have a tough trump card and I would need heals bad and she'd have the earth tank out cause I just triggered water or something. I had to leave her strictly with 3 healers to make sure that doesn't happen. Or you could just control her.

Damn, y'all fighting and beating enemies 10 levels higher? I immediately run from anything like 3 levels above me.

Maybe I need to start outfitting my characters better. I haven't paid attention to the stats at all.

I'm a little overleveled as is. I fight the boss of Chap. 5 and all my party members were at least 12 levels above him.

accessories, when you get further into the game, change a LOT of shyt up lol

20 extra strength is nice at first but then you see stuff like 'perfect cancelling leads to 20% higher special gauge gain' and you're realizing that getting to your money makers is far more important than a few stat points here and there. even something as small as topple status extension can end up paying dividends if it compliments your setup right.

its all about putting out that damage and staying alive long enough to do it. you get this down, you'll be able to swing with anything or know exactly what you need to be doing in order to get that point

yeah i agree. i think i just caught myself leveling past the story. even now that i'm sticking with level 38-40 guys, i'm only just now getting to the new city in chapter 4. once i took one look around the shops it was hard not to notice how significant the item increases were compared to where i was

the writing legit got me laughing at loud at some points, maybe its because of the UK voice actors or something but its just hilarious sometimes low key

"just do what i ask. you don't want to do something that'll get you hurt :mjpls: you're pretty young after all"
"you're a kid too :dahell: we're almost the same age"
"AYE foh :pacspit: i work for a living"

Found a new hardest fight in the game.
There's a driver battle on some scaffolding in Mor Ardain. The guy is only like level 38 or something but the issue is the scaffolding he's on. My party members keep falling off and dying. I tried to draw him a bit further in where there's railing but there's a level 75 pterodactyl flying around that joins in when I do that.

Apparently Rare blades have their own mini side quests.

She just randomly ran out and started zapping everyone. Got depressed and ran off. Completing it fully can unlock her lvl 5 special.

How did you get this quest? Did it just start or did you have to do something? Also what level/Chapter are you up to? I'm curious if either of those affect it.

I just had my heart broken

I finally started punching above my weight class against enemies over my level. I went to this spot in Mor Ardain where three a bunch of soldiers level 59+ for you to fight, plus ranks and helicopters and all that. One of the helicopters is a unique monster called "Vagrant Baldr". I spent about 2 hours in this area trying to go after this guy in a very annoying battle cause the helicopter is constantly moving around aggroing other enemies. I finally, finally beat him. I took a break to get some water and put the Switch on home screen. I hadn't saved in like an hour at this point. When I came back, I went to pick up my controller and picked it up on such a way, that my thumb hit X and A at the same time, closing Xenoblade 2 and killing all the progress I just made. An hour's worth of fighting enemies well above my level, gaining multiple levels of EXP all gone :to: :sadcam: :mjcry:

I'm fukking broken here. Why doesn't it autosave after beating unique beasts? :why:

I did the same thing more or less yesterday, but it wasn't my fault. The game crashed after I'd been playing a couple hours.

No idea why the auto-saves are so sporadic. You'd think it would save more frequently than that.

It crashed on me for the first time today too. Ironically the crash was the last time I saved before I fukked up and closes it myself an hour later. The only reason it had auto saved there was cause I had just opened core crystals.

They should really auto save after every battle, at least after unique monster battles. It's a problem RPG's have had for the longest though.

Side note, have you guys been getting your Salvager skills assessed by Mochichi in the Argentum Trade Guild? He's not in an obvious spot, he's on a platform above the Central Trading floor.

Anyway, the more salvaging you do he will give you a rank from E to A. And he gives you rewards for each rank up. You can get Premium Cylinders from him that give you the best result possible when you salvage.

More importantly though, for the B rank he gives you an item called a Galaxy Cube....it's a 50% chance to attack again after an auto attack. :wow:

It's damn near over powered. I can do combos solo with just Pyra or Mythra....if Tora or Nia join in I can do a level 3 and link that into a Chain Attack literally every time.

Naw, Don't do em all. Some of them are just.... impossible to knock out for where you are in the game. Early on they'll be asking you do some crazy shyt - and most of those are just the games way of encouraging you to explore and get used to the systems.

The crane mission in particular didn't get done on my end until the end of that chapter altogether. If a sidequest is right in front of you, take it, but its not worth going to the ends of the earth over.
