How close do you have to be to lure enemies?

I tried but it wasn' working too well.

Also...some enemies just ignore me ... so that does mean all of them don't wanna mark me? :dahell:

They just let a nikka pass :hubie:

It may just work when facing multiple enemies. Because you have to make sure your party members don't catch the attention of the enemy at all.

What do y'all think about having 2 blades with the same weapon on one character? :patrice:

Seems like it could be a waste, or nah?

you'll end up having 3 slots soon enough, so it's not all too bad. I really like Newt as a main blade, so that puts me at 2 blades with the same element in 2 slots. I guess make sure Nia has a variety, and don't waste your overdrive tool like me and @42 Monks did. :mjlol:

isn't this just a hack and slash button mashing game?

I don't remember too clearly since I played it long time ago and still haven't finished it to this day. But it might be an action adventure style version to something like FFXII: Revenant Wings. A lot of it is auto based, with deep battle elements and triggers.

Got Boreas from a common

Adenine from a rare

:wow: some of these end battles are really satisfying.

Also this Empire is a pretty good place for salvaging. There's a cylinder shop with normal/silver and gold. and a salvaging point out in the field just before you get to the elevator with an easy A A A combo to get some nice goods and monsters that provide rare and common core crystals. Any normal blades, I just release and rack up the boosters. I only have one normal blade that I got really early in the game, can't release her, and she's a good healer.

Don't release all commons. They come in handy for merc missions.

I think its more important to have a load out with all the different elements. My team has fire/light, earth, ice, water, wind, electricity and darkness. I have duplicates with fire and ice.

Target with right bumper and then draw them in by pressing down on the d pad

If anything, it taught me to actually look at the fukking item menu. There's tons of shyt I didn't know about (especially because I'm not using a guide like god intended). I happened to Max out a few common blades early and kept getting shyt called "weapons for noobs" a key item thing or something.

Looking at it tells you how to use them to boost weapon affinity exp by a thousand a pop. Huge early in the game, and keeps you from tossing blades you'd otherwise instantly bush.

Even the informants can tell you good stuff every once in a while.

I love this shyt. The systems are so complex I just love how the combat works. I been experimenting with different archetypes and elements to see what combos well and what kind've seals I can get. Im starting to get a hang of who I should have on deck for what. I need to step up my Blade collection. I have a few rares, but I want all gangsta ones lol.

There's just so much to do and manage, it's a JRPG fans dream. I spent a few hours just side questing earlier, and they were surprisingly lengthy and involved. I just love these characters and I am super intrigued by the world and plot right now it's hard not to push forward.

I've also been having fun on the arcade machine to level Poppi and manufacture new parts, it's a lot of fun.

Really the only time I get frustrated is when a quest marker is like 30 m from me and I just for the life of me can't figure out how to get there with the map and the landscape. There are a lot of small and/or nearly hidden, or at least non obvious routes to huge sections of each area. Which is fine, with exploration and memorization it's fine, but really thats the only time I've been a little irritated. Hunting a specific monster and the game says there's one up on that cliff and I spend 45 minutes figuring out how to get up there lol.
Agreed. Quest marker is kinda bad.

It rotates in the direction you'e looking so it kinda makes it hard to know where to go ... just gotta make sure the step counter is decreasng

Ch. 5 Spoilers

My guess was that all of Torna are blades (including Nia cause of the sauna scene), so I wasn't surprised by Jin's reveal. I think the Praetor is a blade too. Only way that he could live so long.

The quest markers locate an "area" more than a specific point - and with the way that the game likes to pop people/places in is just confusing as hell at times. The compass is all kinds of trash at times too.

Quests and boxing above your weight class. Unique monsters are great too. The way that exp is doled out is scaled VERY heavily. Grinding mobs your own level is kinda whatever - killing just ONE enemy thats 5-10 levels higher is treated like a boss fight.

I think I managed to kill just one bunny or something and that shyt damn near threw me a whole level and a boat load of affinity exp. Find something you can isolate that doesn't have crazy dps, make your tank is properly equipped and set up for it (a really, really big deal - i learned this hard lesson from XCX. You absolutely need your tank drawing aggro, surviving big hits, and debuffing too if at all possible. if your tank is solid and you can keep him alive by playing smart and knowing when its safe to damage, you'll be able to swing with shyt waaaaaaaay above your level).

That ape will fukk you the fukk up though :mjlol: don't even look at that dude funny. What you need to watch for, at least for a while, is those fukking birds and tigers on the edge.

yeah.... i'm kinda shook on team comp still

one thing i wish they had was the elemental blade combo flow chart

i got a rare dark blade that i basically couldn't even use with my team comp at all but i kept sticking with her hoping that whatever new i got would compliment her

:lupe:

Okay, Aggro is basically the attention or 'aggression' one character is drawing from enemies. Normally it goes up based on how active a character is - skills and attacks dictate how much one person is drawing. This can be changed by items, abilities, class roles (tanks specialize in taking attacks for example, healers should be kept away from everything, that type of thing), etc to keep characters in the middle of a fight or away from it given how you want to do business.

The game will expand way more on all of this so don't worry about it. They'll explain a bunch of it when the time comes.

As for the monsters get your solid snake on :damn:
