No games breh. Losing money breh.Microsoft had 23 studios before buying Activision, how would they be “strangled” out the industry? The only thing stopping from being successful is putting out good games
You can't have it both ways.
If MS was dominating sure, but if a company is in anything but 1st place or them buying the competition puts them in 1st place automatically, then worrying about them having a monopoly is questionable.

Yeah, the monopoly talk is just a distraction. The real issues is how acquisitions like this reduces competition.
The belief that MS had to buy up two of the largest game publishers (and with more to come) just to survive is the kind of nonsense only a stan could believe.

Exactly. They ran three of their biggest IP into the ground and let two big devs responsible for them go on to have way bigger success on their own because they couldnt deal with the idea of giving those IP a breather. Thats just flat out bad management that is still going as we see with Undead Labs, The Initiative, Rare, 343, etc.
Why did they shutdown Lionhead only to have Playground Games who have no experience making rpgs make Fable? It makes no sense
