Sony was doing good for the majority of the year and presumably will do good for November and December. PS4 Pro, FFXV, The Last Guardian etc. It'll be business as usual for the next year also.

These guys are delusional. Even the PS4 Pro isn't flying off with the preorders so far. It's in stock to ship on release day at best buy, gamestop and Amazon.

Let the coli crew say it different though.

Sony has been making some very strange decisions in the past year or so while Microsoft is working their asses off in order to regain trust from the market.

The argument that everyone has a PS4 so people are buying other consoles doesn't really make sense because the console generation is only 3 years old. If that was the case Nintendo would be seeing a significant bump as well, but this forum refuses to give the xbox brand credit. I really like what they have been doing in the past 18 months.

Wasn't the Xbox1 cheaper than the PS4 all throughout this year and despite that still was outsold by the PS4 up until the Slim launched? Heck, even last year the PS4 was outselling the XB1 despite the X1 being cheaper.

I remember the XB1 price being cheaper than the PS4 for the longest and it didn't make much difference.

Value matters also. It's why the XB1s outsold the Slim even though they're the same price. The XB1s has a better value. PS4 Pro only $100 more, people will wait since the Slim doesn't hvae that perception of being a upgrade.

By that logic, the Wii U should've swept the floor this year since it's been cheaper.

They are both about the same price. At least within $50 of each other. Times when Xbox gets big promotions, it usually sells more

$250 for a PS4 with a game $400 for a "better" PS4 with no game.

I'd think most budget conscious consumers would go for the former. Especially considering 4K adoption is still at its infancy, and there will be another cheaper console on the market that will be considered a "4K" console.

Where are you finding a $250 PS4 Slim with a game? Cheapest new bundle is $299 for COD BLOPS 3(OG) or UC4(slim).

Budget conscious consumers didn't make a difference when the XB1's price was slashed all last year and before. I remember all the spins y'all were coming up with talking about the PS4 was only selling because it was $399 but then the XB1 was $399 and less at times and was still being outsold.

Their recent exclusives (Forza, Gears) are critically acclaimed. Xbox One S doing numbers. Doing a good job with backwards compatible games. Scorpio set to crush the buildings when they release it.

I do think some of this is people that have a PS4 now getting a Xbone since it's so cheap.
Whats obvious is that even amongst xbox owners PS4 is the primary console for multi platform titles, which is why even though the US lead isn't THAT huge (not close to the 2:1 as in most other countries) PS4 still leads in every multiplatform game.
I do think that the things microsoft has been doing to add value such as backwards compatibility is working to build good will, but as long as PS4 has market share and superior performance than multi platform owners will flock to the PS4 versions and thus generate more revenue for Sony.

Sony has at this point sold an estimated two times the number of Xbox Ones sold. The positions are set. Them outselling Sony a couple months in the US isn't gonna make up the battering they took for years worldwide.

Nothing is guaranteed. The PS2 crushed everything and the 360 came in and basically won most of the generation until the PS3 finally took over in the end in worldwide sales.
