technically it won't be Sony screwing you it will be Sony telling the publishers they can police themselves. then Sony will kick back and say "hey we didn't tell them to do that, we don't require internet on the box itself so what they do is on them."

don't think for a minute that these publishers are gonna have the Xbox locked down tight all the while open season on Playstation and don't think for a minute Sony is gonna stand up to them and tell them no DRM.

there's a phrase for what Sony is about to and has already said they're gonna pull;
Plausible deniability.

yes it will, sony could just tell them to fukk off and suck a dikk like nintendo did. Atleast Microsoft manned up and implemented a policy where our used games can ATLEAST be used on other system. if there is no daily drm authentication there is no sharing between systems plain and simple.

Almost all publishers will use that policy besides maybe CD Projekt

I'm really expecting Sony to screw over Microsoft when it comes to that DRM. It's just something in the air. Even if Sony does pull some "pseudo" DRM mess, their system is already sounding better than the Draconian shyt Microsoft is pulling. Waiting 30 days to share a game one time with a friend on your friend's list? LOL

that's what i'm worried about. seems like Sony is about to throw publishers under the bush while implementing the same bullshyt microsoft is getting shyt for.

i'm going to hold off purchasing ps4. if they're shipping eye along w/the console and they have some used game restrictions, i might be done with "next gen" gaming on consoles.

you'll probably have to wait until the console comes out. Sony doesn't have to talk about or address methods of DRM that they themselves don't implement.

sure there's likely gonna be DRM free games on PS4. probably all first party games and games from smaller publishers will be DRM free. the first party games to save fact and maintain the illusion that Sony has nothing to do with this.

the thing is this Sony can stand up and say our console doesn't require internet so your games can't either but you and i know they won't do that. for Sony its a catch 22. Microsoft went along with it so how can they say no? it will piss off the publishers and Sony doesn't want that so Sony will choose the next best thing. let it go down and let someone else take the heat for it.

when you leave it up to the publishers and you don't create a system where used games can be sold somehow two things happen. one from game to game there is no standard and two it makes it less likely that you'll be able to resell a game at all.

think about it if a publisher requires you enter a code to activate a game online the code can be one time use and that's it. your friend puts that same disc in their system and they have to buy a code from the publisher or they can't play. you won't be able to share the game with anyone unless the publisher says yes. the game will have zero resell value if the publisher says no code no play.

at that point you probably wouldn't have to verify your game online ever again because once you activate it that's it. no transfer or resell so no internet checkins needed. once you activate a game in such a system you're stuck with it.

what i'm saying is hold off your full reservations on what Microsoft did until you see how Sony lets these publishers screw you over first.

:noah: The fact I have to wait to find out who is going to screw me over the worst is just not acceptable...(Pause)..We are the consumers damnit! We shouldn't have take this crap from any of the developers. Telling me what I can do with the game after I bought it. What type of shyt!!!:rudy:

so if EA tells Sony "Ok since you won't let us sell our products with any type of security we're going Microsoft exclusive" then what? what if Ubisoft, and Activision said the same thing?

when the PS4 that has sold 0 units and the Xbox One that has also sold 0 units hit and you can only get Battlefield, Madden, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty on the Xbox One then what? see what i'm saying? Sony has the power to say no but if they do they'll face that wrath. now if they had balls they could say no and let this go to market and have gamers rally around them and shun the Xbox One but you'd have to ask yourself if you were Sony would you gamble on that?

EA needs Sony... not the other way around.. EA and especially Ubisoft (since their sales are higher on the ps3) wouldn't dare make their products an Microsoft exclusive cutting their own profits in half

is it really cutting your products in half when the game starts with a score of 0 to 0? if the publishers all pull in one direction we would likely have a highly dominate console and everything else would fall way behind. its just like how they strangled the life out of the Dreamcast by refusing to develop on it.

nikka. Money made by releasing a game on PS4 with no DRM will greatly outweigh the money made without a ps4 version. The ball is in sonys court.

But that doesn't mean shyt cuz I personally welcome DRM :blessed:

I don't mind checking in every 24 hours :yeshrug:

Paying for the service must not be enough for Microsoft but ill do what it takes for them because I'm a loyal customer :salute:

Exactly.....for one hour offline...:lolbron:

But you can sign in and play your shyt anywhere (as long as that person has a connection).... :lolbron:

But don't let that nikka borrow your shyt.....cause you can't play it again after that on your account...:lolbron:

Seeing as how Fifa, Madden, Live, BF4 are all on the PS4....:yeshrug: If it sells more on the PS4 with no DRM than the XB1 with DRM....you think EA will give a fukk? :patrice:

It should ALWAYS be up to the publisher, you don't design a whole fukking console with these crazy ass restrictions. I see people keep bringing up EA...those idiots are CLUELESS. how did SimCity turn out for them? :laff
