Basically if it wasnt always online but still able to offer some interesting game-sharing features, provided everyones online, I'd be pretty happy about everything else

Still cant see how PS4 will not have some similar confusions as well, but if they keep it strictly about games they might win my vote

that won't do much of anything. Consoles are destined to die because the hardware of cell phones and tablets will eventually render them obsolete to the general public casual gamer who doesn't want to spend $400-$500 on a dedicated box just to play games.

there are no used games in mobile app stores afterall. at some point its just gonna make more sense to sell mobile software and do in-app purchases than spend millions developing software for dedicated game boxes that will end up being owned by a smaller and smaller crowd.
i said "hasten" which means that i know consoles are destined to die, breh, but the pace can speed up or slow down based on decisions.

the problem is you are way overstating the importance of mobile games. at this point, they only can compete with casual games, not traditional video games. they only reduce the bottom of the console market, the top is still spending lots of money. the biggest problems of the industry at this moment are all self inflicted business decisions similar to hollywood, except worse because hollywood has worked out much smarter ways to get revenue.

Don't known where that chart came from but you know damn well more than 17% of Americans have the Internet:stopitslime:

Internet World Stats - Usage and Population Statistics

Says here that about 80% of Americans have the Internet.

And beyond any of this Microsoft is spending millions of dollars on market research. There is no way they would release this system if they didn't think there were enough customers.

I agree that it's good that MS is leaving it up to publishers, but having their own 24 hour check for DRM purposes at the system level is still there. Something Sony ISN'T doing. Therein lies the difference. You will be able to enjoy your PS4 totally offline with no check in. That's a big difference vs the X1.

but im worried about how that could work. i dont know what scheme the publisher would choose to restrict resales.

you and me both.

Sounds like on the Xbox side, they could have a fee that the retailers would give back to the publishers to charge a used game purchaser to "deactivate" their game.

On the Sony side, I have no idea since you it's not an online mandated console. Even if a Gamestop did the same for a PS4 game as they do in the situation above for an XB1 game, private sales are still fine.

As long as I can still flip my game privately (I use Ebay) for PS4 games, I'll be happy. This and not having to check in with Sony.

That's a blog bruh compared to a telecommunications union data.

However, access to the internet is one thing compared to internet at home.

80 is def high and 17 is too low.

I'm seeing numbers loser to 60/65% or 2/3rd of households. That seems more realistic. And again that is homes WITH broadband.

^^^This guy's praying to god Xbox Live goes down :pachaha::pachaha:

Strange. I didn't hear this cry for rationality the previous two week.

I wonder why :ohhh:

:umad:

Oh so you have personally witnessed me trashing the xbox 1 for the past two weeks? Even with no info on both these systems, your saying I personally have been on a two week microsoft trashing spree?

You have any proof of this since you have to single me out?
