the 24 hours and the madatory kinect needs to be changed. i have a feeling those two policies will be changed before launch.

the destruction of the MS used game market (and this is definitely meant to destroy it) may push a significant portion of consumers to the PS4. i think in the longer run, they will try to stick with it, but end up changing a major aspect of it after a couple years

Japan, but from the 989
how will they know its your family... is it only if you have a xbox family plan... i doubt they gon let you len games to ANY 10 people... nikkas would be selling rights to their games like crazy :mjpls:

You know that Kinect is going to make everyone of your family members stand in front of it for some sort of visual identification. This Nazi Box that Microsoft is trying to sell us is garbage.

Kinect: (Pauses game) Who the fukk is in the room with you? This unidentified person must leave the room in five minutes or this console will lock up and you will be reported to the authorities. Only Pre-Registered family members who are on your friends list for at least thirty days are allowed to watch you play games. Tell that nikka to leave!

according to Giant Bomb the publishers pushed for the used game thing specifically EA, Activision, and Ubisoft. expect something similar on Playstation.

if so, then they will hasten the death of consoles, LOL. i actually think that even if sony was considering it, they are now not going to do it. i think they'd rather let MS be bad cop.

Most mobile phones already function as Internet hotspots.

And these gamers "all over the world"'that don't have Internet connections are very few. Statistics say about 80% of the developed world has access to the Internet. The territories that are so far behind that they don't have connections are the territories that are still buying ps2s.

I can say this sucks for military men on deployment. But even then it's a small minority of military enlisted that don't have access to the Internet, they should probably buy a ps4.

Basically what were looking at is the past vs. the future. And id much rather side with the future.

thing is Sony always said it would be up to the publishers if they wanted to, but it won't be mandated at the system level.

That's all you can ask for. :yeshrug:

Sorry to break it to you, but thats all old...been around for almost 10 years actually.

Cloud gaming has been around for 3 years in the consumer world and has been worked on for about 10 years.

Your "future" is dated pre xbox 360/ps3

Microsoft is not talking about cloud gaming though. Their talking about using the cloud to make the xbone 40 times better than the 360 when initially its only 6 times better graphically. Complete bullshyt...out they mouth..

that won't do much of anything. Consoles are destined to die because the hardware of cell phones and tablets will eventually render them obsolete to the general public casual gamer who doesn't want to spend $400-$500 on a dedicated box just to play games.

there are no used games in mobile app stores afterall. at some point its just gonna make more sense to sell mobile software and do in-app purchases than spend millions developing software for dedicated game boxes that will end up being owned by a smaller and smaller crowd.

There will always be a market for the console though. Problem with mobile and tablet games is the lack of control. That is something consoles will always have over mobile/tablet gaming. That and screen size.

that's not all you can ask for, and it doesnt sound much better than what MS is doing either.

I agree that it's good that MS is leaving it up to publishers, but having their own 24 hour check for DRM purposes at the system level is still there. Something Sony ISN'T doing. Therein lies the difference. You will be able to enjoy your PS4 totally offline with no check in. That's a big difference vs the X1.
