this is what happens when yall are autistic and dont listen ... and would rather live your life through a corporation

yall still pretend xbox and microsoft are two separate things. Until then, its a redundant topic really.

I think this person most likely means stuff like Minecraft, COD, ESO, F76, and Blizzard live service games. I think major issue with Microsoft they don't have a unified voice because they're always cleaning up messes from what somebody outside of the core gaming says

Anyway, I think the main reason they won't drop out of consoles or go fully third party is due to losing out 30% cut they get from third party sales. Why would they sacrifice revenue that is made from 45million-70million customers a gen? Also, the allure of gamepass is gone if they go third party and I doubt Playstation and Nintendo gamers will keep a monthly sub of a gimped gamepass that only contains Microsoft first party games. Take 2023 for example, I doubt gamers would pay $10/month for Microsoft pas library and new releases such as Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, minecraft legends, forza, redfall, diablo 4, and MW3. What would happen is pretty much what happens on PC where people will just buy games individually and ignore subbing to gamepass. I don't think Sony or Nintendo allows gamepass in its current form on their platform, but will allow an EA Play/ Ubisoft+ version of it, and that's not appealing for $10/month imo.

Lastly, I think going third party or exiting console kills gamepass strategy because I doubt people would sub to a Microsoft first-party version only. Plus, I don't think third party sales will balance out the revenue that is miss from getting 30% third party and microtranscation cuts, and the misisng 30% they get from selling games on Playstation and Nintendo

this is the part people are missing. They not gonna get the kind of growth they want relying on samsung TV’s, xbox, and pc gamepass at this point.

They can’t move consoles which means they can’t sell more subscriptions to the type of gamers that actually want to opt into 100’s of games for 20+ dollars a month

Subs still won't move if a gimped version of gamepass is on Playstation and Nintendo. If you have a PS5 would you pay $10/month to get access to Microsoft current library that's already on Playstation + Starfield, Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, Forza, MW3, and DIablo 4?

I feel most would say no, and just buy those games individually, so it won't do much for their subs and won't be worth the risk. THere's no way Sony allows gamepass in its current form on Playstation and same with Nintendo . This would end up like steam where most PC gamers just buy the games individually on steam or have a seasonal sub to try out game on gamepass pc to see if it's worth buying on Steam.
