What does it do? You being real harded bruh. Latency and bottlenecks won't be an issue in the PS4 with the way it was designed for GAMING first.

System memory (DDR3) benefits from low latency (tight timings) at the expense of bandwidth, GDDR5's case is the opposite. Timings for GDDR5 would seems unbelieveably slow in relation to DDR3, but the speed of VRAM is blazing fast in comparison with desktop RAM- this has resulted from the relative workloads that a CPU and GPU undertake. Latency isn't much of an issue with GPU's since their parallel nature allows them to move to other calculation when latency cycles cause a stall in the current workload/thread.

Stop quoting links. You have no idea what they mean or what the implications are for actual performance.

It says latency isn't an issue with GPU's. of course you know that games use the CPU as well. Sometimes even more so than the gpu.

Guirella games already spoke on how the PS4 is optimized with no bottlenecks, friend. This isnt a PC. We will not experience latency on the PS4. I dont know what you'll experience on 720 but it wont be better than ps4 but ps4 will be better than 720.

Another dude who has no idea what he's talking about. The bottlenecks they are talking about refer to the amount of ram not the type of ram.

A Sony exclusive studio praising Sony hardware. As if we hadn't seen that before:rudy:

Stop posting links. Tell me in your on words. What does faster ram do.

If we are going just by tech specs than the ps4 CPU will struggle due to latency issues.

:russ: that's your new trolling tactic? It's a really stupid one. Your just making people educate themselves to the truth more.. The truth is the ps4 and sony is more for gamers and they have better hardware/software.

Can you explain what gddr5 will allow the ps4 to do that dddr3 + ESRAM can't do?

So someone like you can understand it essentially allows larger chunks of data to be sent at one time and faster than ddr3. DDR3 is good for passing small pieces of data. DDR3 can only read or write every clock cycle. GDDR5 can read and write to/from every clock cycle at higher data chunks. MUCH MUCH higher.

In gaming where so many files in the game install are large not to mention the amount of data being passed on multiplayer/saved states/netflix/home network connections all at the same time, gddr5 is a more ideal choice because it will enhance our multiplayer experiences and gaming experiencing allowing more great stuff to happen at once without bogging down the system whether that be in multiplayer or in game.

Put it to your like, friend. Take a laptop with a average graphics card and fill the pc up with 12 gigs of ddr3 ram. The game will still run slow at high settings despite you having 12 gigs of ddr3 ram. This is because of the limitations on your graphics card. There is so much going on to render graphics in games that we really take for granted what memory is actually doing. Take that same scenario and then open netflix/photoshop/multiple web browsers on your pc and then recheck the performance of your slow running game. :deadrose: Computer fan going HAM!:heh:

Having unified Gddr5 unified allows the console to do a lot more heavy lifting in regards to data and still maintaining those epic visuals and performance standards hopefully without going Ham. The CPU and GPU will be able to read and write to memory at the same time and push larger chunks of data across both/ at the same time. 720 is limited in this regard. The PS4 has potential to be able to do a lot more than the xbox 720 in game and while we are online.

Thats why we choose ps4, this holiday season, friend. :dj2:

PS4 this holiday season.

Just stop. You are continuing to show that you have no idea what you are talking about. Gddr5 is the newest form of memory and does offer some performance benefits to GPUs. Its being used in most of the newest cards for that reason, but the overall performance of the card has more to do with the architecture of the card, not which type of ram it uses. Plenty of cards on the market can and do play high end graphics using gddr3 ram.
