The two things I am curious about is, when Vince dies, who will be the controlling interest for the family. THAT is when you get in a situation where if things get dicey, the demand for a new CEO comes along. I would assume some combination of Linda,Steph and Shane would own all Vince's shares? Makes me wonder if that becomes a mess and here comes Shane with CEO EXPERIENCE IN ANOTHER COMPANY ridin in on horse like Eastwood in a western and taking the reigns....so to speak.

If things got pretty bad and Vince wasn't there, it would be kind of funny in a bad way to see some CEO of a shoe company or something be put in....never watched a day of rasslin in his life.

2nd question is....if they burn through that cash in 3 years and the network is still sucking up money....what will they do? They killed their own PPV biz. They should have copied Dana White and UFC.....their streaming service is already at the break even point according to Meltzer because they didn't put their core PPVs on it.

To me what made sense was to cut traditional PPVs down to 6 or 8, and put the other 6 or 4 on the network, but keep Mania, Rumble, SS and 3-5 others traditional. Let the PPV biz roll down the hill on its own and keep taking the money as long as you can...there was no reason to hit the gas pedal...just coast down.

Vince risked everything he owned on the gamble of Wrestlemania 1 and it worked, then he was in the vicinity of being put out of business by WCW and came out on top.....this is his third and last mountain to climb.

Daddy Carter didn't want to put his a ton of his money in this game and I can see why.

I think Shane while having a share is totally out of the wrestling business while doing the digitial streaming media thing in Asia

I think whats gonna be more interesting to see is if Triple H and Stephanie clash over ideologies when Vince dies.

As much people blame Vince, keep a couple of things in mind:

Stephanie pushed John Cena, dropped the ball on re-signing Rock when he had the Hollywood offers, loathed CM Punk and pushed for more Divas exposure with non-wrestling ladies

HHH got hold of NXT which gave us the Shield, Bray Wyatt and is there nurturing development of Steen, Sami, Kenta/Hideo, Finn Balor/Devitt and these recruiting these established indie stars

It will be fascinating to see how much Stephanie makes the product more PG/Sports Entertainment vs Trips wanting the grown up/wrestling audience back

Right now Vince is there as the final say, all seeing eye so people conform.

the same people who would have been WWF fans in the 90s are now watching UFC

We all knew it was fake back then but it was done in a way which made u believe what u saw, like a really good movie (ECW's shyt felt real as fuk back in the day for example)

Plus u had charismatic personalities like Austin, Hogan, Rock, Hart, HBK, Taker etc That captivated you even if u weren't a fan of wrestling.... along with all the over the top fukkery
(like when Big Bossman went to the Big Shows fathers funeral ...tied the casket to his truck and drove off with it)

:russ:

Now they don't even care to try to make it believable

I haven't watched wrestling since 2001

When they brought in that rapping cac waving his hand in front of his face with cut off jean shorts i was done

:camby:
Same time I stopped watching. When they merged the companies, it was over.

WWE changed their plans last year to appeal to the goatface neckbeards. Those people did not buy the network or cancelled it soon as Bryan was legitimately injured. fukk them, him, and any smark who doesn't like it. They need to go.

This company had to switch plans from having the belt on one of the leading actors from last years film of the year, for bingo hall Daniel Bryan.

:heh:

GTFOH.

I'm not fan of Daniel Bryan, but. . . Batista?

Really?

I mean, there's a ton of people the WWE is holding back that the fans would rather see than Batista. Bray, Ambrose, Reigns (before he got exposed), Cesaro, etc. . . would've gotten better responses than Batista did.

The anti-Bryan guys really have to stretch with making everything Bryan's fault, instead of looking at the REAL problem, which is that Bryan is the fans REACTION to all of the things that people hate about the product. People root for Bryan because he's the embodiment of everything that WWE isn't at this point.

Same time I stopped watching. When they merged the companies, it was over.

Yeah, I stopped watching there too, but I came back about a year and a half ago. I was a little shocked when there was no blood or t*ts allowed anymore.

the same people who would have been WWF fans in the 90s are now watching UFC

Meh, they're two different things. WWE is a TV show and UFC is a sport. I don't see why people compare the two. I have NO interest in UFC or MMA at all, but I like pro wrestling, because I like the storylines and the choreographed moves and the ring psychology of it. I don't see why people have to pick one or the other
:heh:

ted turner would get to rewrite the history books.

from the "rise and fall of the wwe" documentary "you see vince could never hang in the big boy end of the shark tank cause he never considered the long term play. that's why he's no longer in business. he didn't have deep enough pockets to keep funding his own failing ventures"

lmao and of course all the disloyal turncoats.

hogan: :manny:"vince never really understood the business side of things like turner did."

jericho: "you know even though i was happy to be in the wwe, deep down you know i was always kinda pullin for wcw and ted turner to win the war. that was the company that made me into who i am today and i always kinda envisioned ending my career there.:ehh:"

hhh: ":demonic:and that's why in the end i think i had to divorce steph... she always thought she knew it all."

I bought in at $16 before the Network was announced. It went up to $30.:mjcry: I was waiting for the the new TV deal.:beli: There was talks of billions of dollars for the new contract.:ohlawd: When they got the same shyt they had already, the stock price tumbled like a motherfukker.:bryan:
Breh I remember in 2013 when it was like 7.95, I was waiting for it to drop under 7.50 to buy in :mjcry: what a fukking dummy I was :mjcry:

Missed the $30 wave and the 750 splash, got in at $12. Wish I bought more when the stock dipped under 10 last month but my cash was tied up

We gon make it
Thank you RomeGod :mjcry:

They need to...
  1. Hire more wrestlers. To me it seems like they have even less wrestlers on the rosters compared to just four or even three years ago.
  2. They need to actually have better wrestling.
  3. Actually take the women's division seriously like TNA does. By doing so they'll get a new fan base.
  4. Develop your minority wrestlers like TNA does instead of making them walking stereotypes. By developing them you'll get an even bigger fan base.
  5. IMO they need more than one title back
  6. Fix the tag team division. PLEASE!
  7. IMO they need to bring brand extensions back and go back to having general mangers. By doing so one star wouldn't overshadow another. Also have each brand have something unique about them. What the hell is the difference between Raw and SD these days?
  8. Build MORE and better heels. 1. There seems to be a lack of quality heels besides Seth and Brock(though Brock seems to be semi-Heel). But more importantly have heels does people DESPISE. i.e JBL 2004/5 or HHH 2002/5. Again DESPISE. And I don't mean these CM Punk or Bray Wyatt types of heels.
  9. Make faces ACTUALLY have odds stacked against them. And no I'm not freaking talking about 3 on 1 handicap matches. I'm talking the shyt Vince or Eric Bishop use to do to their enemies. The hell they would put through. The hell Vince put Michaels and others through.
  10. This goes back to #7, build more than one star, which is why bringing back brand extension is important to me.
  11. Sell WWE studios like someone said.
  12. ACTUALLY promote WWE Network and I mean on stations that WWE does not come on!!!!!!!!
This is all just my opinion.

Also all booking suggestions are irrelevant. The problem isn't the product, it's the business model. There's nothing they can do right now (meaning the next few years) to sell more tickets or network subs. It would take 10 years to re educate the fans and condition the fans to see WWE the way people see ufc or baseball.

If you're broke and hate WWE, it doesn't matter who is champ. You're still gonna be broke, hate WWE, and watch for free anyway. WWE is like a bar packed with 500 people but only 50 of em are buying drinks. The other 450 people will complain this week, be happy next week, and not buy any drinks both weeks

Their only hope is to get the TV ratings to crazy, 1998 levels right when it's time to get a new contract. But that would take time like I said. Right now we are in 1992, business is down but not awful 95 levels
