We going to ignore that her colleague said she was sleeping with executives ?

Not sure but she was also accused of this during NXT too

Main roster and NXT?

When Alexa makes her internet face turn 20 years later when she books NXT Takeovers :wow:

Okay. :stopitslime:

My problem with your original post is you mentioned that Sasha and Bayley already feuded in NXT. That's great and all, but you have to remember that not everybody watches NXT or is even aware of what these wrestlers did in NXT. WWE treats these wrestlers in a way that what they accomplished in NXT doesn't matter when they get to the main roster.

Bayley was over like a fat rat when she came to the main roster. She had momentum from NXT that they spent months systematically killing in an attempt to destroy her character. You remember what happened a year after she came to RAW? The crowd cheered when she announced she had an injury and booed her like crazy during the rest of her promo. All that work in NXT was erased, and she still hasn't fully recovered.

Shinsuke Nakamura was a huge star in NXT. He gets to the main roster and takes part in lukewarm feuds, is subject to racist promos, and even after turning heel, still doesn't win the WWE Championship. They had him win the men's Royal Rumble for nothing. He was one of a kind in NXT but on the main roster, he's just another guy.

Asuka might be the worst example. At the beginning of the year, she was undefeated through NXT/the main roster, the winner of the women's Royal Rumble and she was just one match away from the championship. Fast forward to August and she's not even on the show. She's lost everything that made her an attraction.

Saying "we got it in NXT" is an indication that we shouldn't expect better from the main roster when we should.
As good as TakeOver is, it's pathetic that a developmental brand is better at putting on wrestling shows than the actual company. If WWE was smart enough, they would build on Sasha and Bayley's history in NXT to add more layers to their feud on the main roster. But instead, they wasted months not doing anything with them, teased it for a while, forgot about it again, teased it again, and decided to not do it. I would rather they never try it again instead of wasting everyone's time and teasing it a third time.

Once you get called up, nothing you did in NXT matters. You're at the mercy of Vince now. It's why Alexa and Carmella are the champions and the big dogs of the roster despite being underachievers in NXT, while women like Asuka are putting them over and being treated like afterthoughts.

Let's not be naive. Who in their right mind would expect Vince McMahon as we know him to be, cited in your examples, to make a commitment to continuity and momentum for NXT talent? You expect this of him while also acknowledging that NXT is a product not everybody watches? Isn't he going to dismiss NXT as a niche product at that point and do what Vince McMahon wants?

You're expecting something different from Vince McMahon? Why? Now, I'll demand different (read:better) from Vince McMahon but I don't expect to get it, not at all.

I mentioned Sasha and Bayley's NXT feud because its main roster version is a casualty of a hastily rushed tag division they (and some here) wanted to create. Why would you have a problem with me saying "we got it in NXT" given what we know about Vince?

I expect WWE to get it wrong on the main roster, time and time again.

You could also save time and space just by saying Vince & Stephanie don’t want it to be good or for anyone to be over so once they get their hands on someone, their only goal is sabotage them, kill their heat, their ability to draw interest from fans, and make sure no other promotion can benefit from their presence on the roster.

Lol@the comments on the rumored Asuka heel turn
WWE can't push a Japanese star without making them an evil foreigner. Io Shirai, this is your future. Kairi? You'll never get past midcard.

I think with Asuka's wishy-washy booking on the main roster her true ceiling has been reached and a heel turn isn't gonna do jack in the long run and as wwe is going to be focusing heavily on other divas I reckon Asukas's time has passed us by but she'll be a solid hand the rest of wwe career

Asuka was a tweener in NXT that could turn it up as a heel when need be - which is exactly what WWE could do, but I don't see that happening. It's sad that sure successful babyfaces (Bayley, Finn, Sami) fail so badly on the main roster.

Asuka beat Shayna Baszler last night for the NXT Women's title pal. I know who she is.

-Vince

I'd be amazed if Vince even knows who she is. Probably thinks Askua is one half of the jumping bomb angles.

"Damnit, Paul! She's a foreigner she has to be heel!"

They usually consider heel turns when they screw the talent up. Nothing new here.

Asuka was a homerun, a slamdunk, an easy lay, (whatever) for this company and they found a way to screw it up. She is good enough to bounce back, but she shouldn't have to. She should be spearheading this Women's Revolution. Instead she is jobbing to a greenhorn like Carmela. And worst of all WWE is gonna have to take the belt of her anyway because she isn't good enough (yet) to carry a match much less hold a title.

P.S. That should be a rule. You can have a title only when you are good enough to carry a match.

She didn't fail to capture anything. Main roster creative has failed her..

sorry but what the main roster idiots have done to Asuka is damn criminal, she is a special performer and on another level to pretty much everyone else and HHH built her up amazingly in NXT and handed them a sure thing for a top female star but they fukked it up. Give me back NXT Asuka please
