Nah, I know exactly who said it, I just prefer to subpost. Attacking the idea, rather than certain users (who I actually like and appreciate) we just disagree here.
What they said should happen, is exactly what's happening.
Okay.
My problem with your original post is you mentioned that Sasha and Bayley already feuded in NXT. That's great and all, but you have to remember that not everybody watches NXT or is even aware of what these wrestlers did in NXT. WWE treats these wrestlers in a way that what they accomplished in NXT doesn't matter when they get to the main roster.
Bayley was over like a fat rat when she came to the main roster. She had momentum from NXT that they spent months systematically killing in an attempt to destroy her character. You remember what happened a year after she came to RAW? The crowd cheered when she announced she had an injury and booed her like crazy during the rest of her promo. All that work in NXT was erased, and she still hasn't fully recovered.
Shinsuke Nakamura was a huge star in NXT. He gets to the main roster and takes part in lukewarm feuds, is subject to racist promos, and even after turning heel, still doesn't win the WWE Championship. They had him win the men's Royal Rumble for nothing. He was one of a kind in NXT but on the main roster, he's just another guy.
Asuka might be the worst example. At the beginning of the year, she was undefeated through NXT/the main roster, the winner of the women's Royal Rumble and she was just one match away from the championship. Fast forward to August and she's not even on the show. She's lost everything that made her an attraction.
Saying "we got it in NXT" is an indication that we shouldn't expect better from the main roster when we should. As good as TakeOver is, it's pathetic that a developmental brand is better at putting on wrestling shows than the actual company. If WWE was smart enough, they would build on Sasha and Bayley's history in NXT to add more layers to their feud on the main roster. But instead, they wasted months not doing anything with them, teased it for a while, forgot about it again, teased it again, and decided to not do it. I would rather they never try it again instead of wasting everyone's time and teasing it a third time.
Once you get called up, nothing you did in NXT matters. You're at the mercy of Vince now. It's why Alexa and Carmella are the champions and the big dogs of the roster despite being underachievers in NXT, while women like Asuka are putting them over and being treated like afterthoughts.
