WWE is so ass backwards bringing back old wrestlers nobody gives a shyt about. This feeds directly into that thread I made earlier in the year. How can these young wrestlers establish and main event WM when they're constantly stepped on? Trish, Nikki Bella and Michelle McCool have absolutely no business being in the god damn Royal Rumble nor this PPV. The fans need to stop eating this bullshyt up.

I really think somebody up top (probably Vince) doesn't believe in the roster enough to think they can draw without returns of some kind. That's not exclusive to the women's division either.

It stems from them not wanting anyone to reach that level. If they reach that level, they have leverage to use to argue for better pay or creative control. If they all get sabotaged then they aren’t worth much of anything. The old people coming back for a month at a time doesn’t worry them because they don’t stay for long and it conditions the crowd to realize that the new people don’t matter. In 5-10 years this is gonna really bite them in the ass when none of the old people can go and their entire audience is people who weren’t even born during the AA/RA era who aren’t brought back by nostalgia. Surprise returns by pirate paul burchill or the highlanders or by the countless guys they hyped up only to have them languish with a below .500 record competing for the IC title aren’t gonna move the needle. Imagine them being so desperate to get that sort of pop that they hype up someone like Alberto or Ryback
