The Zen Master was ahead of the league. Dude was the first to publicly foresaw the inflated salaries that emerged in the off-season. Made some moves that greatly rewarded the Knicks. On the other hand, Pat was unprepared for the new cap. I don't understand how he didn't forsee that what has unfolded in today market.

At this point, I would love to see what this team looks like without Wade. Would it be a struggle? Probably. But I trust spo enough and believe he would have them competing hard every night and most likely still a middle of the pack playoff team. If Wade goes, they should match Tyler and let him and j-rich man the 2 and see what happens.

If Wade did leave, they wouldn't have to match TJ since he technically hasn't signed yet and they could then offer him basically the same contract he'd get from the Nets with more normal yearly figures

That's what it feels like. I hate to be "that fan", but if I've made over $150 million in salary, have my health, have my wife, have my kids, live in a great state to live with lots to do, no income tax, a fanbase that's always seen me as number 1, an organization that is protective of their guys, and have an offer worth $40 million on the table, I don't mind taking that. He's gonna have a comfortable job in the organization or on tv waiting when he hangs his sneakers up, so it's not like he's gonna be cash strapped. I like being paid well, and winning. $20 million a year is more than I would know what to do with, and this franchise isn't ever gonna kick Wade to the curb. Both need to stop bickering and hammer out a compromise, because this isn't a good look for anyone.

Lets keep it real though. If you were going to make room/$ for Durant. Why not Wade?

Why should he make less than Parsons and Barnes when he'll be better than those guys the next two years?

Only checks that need to be signed is the one that legacies Wade up for 2 years.

Everyone is talking about flexibility but no matter how much he signs for 20 or 25 per year, it still takes us out of the hunt.
