tough ep to make it thru…only been 3 eps but for me some of the acting has felt really off this season…idk if it’s always been like that but I was more tolerant in the previous seasons bcuz I was wrapped into the wu-tang “lore” (especially their early beginnings) or if it’s just this season alone…shameik moore and TJ atoms (at times) have been the main exceptions so far this season

I appreciate the Dirt Mcgirt backstory but that episode didn’t hit like that for me. I did think it showcased that despite the RZA role not being a great fit for him (in my opinion) that Ashton is a good actor. But after 3 episodes Raekwon and Dirty have been the standouts. I liked seeing Liquid Swords coming together and seeing Rae and Ghost build. But Method Man has only been in like 1 3min scene in 3 episodes?

ya ironically I found him to be a whole lot more plausible in that role…even his voice switch up was cool

The U-God & Divine scene foreshadowing the beef over money, I'm not getting what I deserve, etc.
So easy for him to think Divine was skimming or whatever, even though he explained in detail taxes and insurance
Reminds me of the Ghost and Divine scene in Mics and Men: "If you get a million dollars, I get 200!" "No, I want the full million!"

I still don't understand how these dudes had gripes for getting a steady paycheck for doing absolutely nothing. Uey ain't even on Mef album, what you mad about?

If my memory serves me correctly U-God's album kept getting pushed back while the other clan members albums between 94 & 97 were being put out.

Apart from performance checks U-God wasn't getting money.

Divine got 10% of everything. Meaning if the clan got paid $2m, Divine got $200k even if he had no involvement. Rza as the producer got more points off the solo albums too.

I've said before I fully see both sides. For Divine and Rza, their viewpoint is that if they weren't there and the Wu had to go get outside management and production they'd be paying just as much if not even more than they were paying Rza and Divine.

From the actual Wu members viewpoint, they are all sacrificing for the team. They are kicking back a portion of their earnings to Wu Tang Corp to be split between the other members. They are looking at it like if we are all family, then why isn't part of Divine and Rza's earnings being put into the pie to be split by everybody too. Instead they're getting their money off the top.

Divine was closing ALL the deals early on so he deserved that 10%.

RZA did ALL the production so he deserved the points. I wasn’t aware that a portion of his earnings wasn’t being kicked back into Wu-Tang Productions, that IS shady but in real life RZA has said ALL of them were having a cut going back to the company and RZA hasn’t been caught lying yet.

If I was RZA i’d be giving a cut of my artist royalties back to the company like the other group members but i’d be keeping 100% of the production points. Justification would be because RZA, more than anyone, sacrificed those early Wu glory years getting those albums done. Its canon that the rest of the group were living it up having a good time in the Wu mansion while RZA was holed up in the studio making beats and putting those albums together. Not only the production, but the mastering, sequencing, even the writing (for ODB) was RZA. Also keep in mind the music videos, artwork, marketing, and even the outfits (before Wu-Wear) was 80% RZA. That man did it ALL making that five year plan a reality while Ghost was out whopping nikkas asses, ODB was doing every drug known to man, Raekwon was fukking mad bytches, Meth was winning Grammys, and U-God was being an iced out Oscar The Grouch

Nah, they were all getting paid off each other's ventures so that everyone had something coming in, even when they didn't have an album out. It my be the Wu Manual, or another interview but it was like 20-25%. RZA said that the problems arose as dudes started getting more and more bread, They didn't like having to split anything...which comes back to bite them in the ass now. Even in episode 1, Divine was like half goes to Meth but the other goes to the company to get split 8 ways.

Divine brokered every single deal they had, so he was mostly takin his percentage points....but they all ate off the group and brand's success...except for Divine and Power. But even RZA was splitting his cut. He should've been taking MORE, since he was doing everything. RZA got 50% of producer credits, and still kicked up a portion to the company.

If RZA, Divine & Power didn't do that, the brand doesn't last as long as it did.

Rae and Ghost still have the best scenes in the show to me… I still feel they should’ve never casted Dave East as method man, it’s noticeable that they don’t focus on his career as much because Dave ain’t a strong actor.
Maybe it happened in season 2 and I'm forgetting but this would be the time to show Meth fighting hard the ladies man image as well as clashes with the clan in regards to his popularity taking off and Ghost and Rae fukking with him about it.
