I really appreciate the love letter to Ason Ep 3 is...if you don't get it, I understand, but it's really an adept way to try and contextualize a very flawed man without casting judgement...that's very hard to do and I honestly think they pulled it off.

Also, props to Wu for continuing to amplify the fukk out of Syl Johnson even after his passing this season so far. That has got to be the most mutually beneficial sampling relationship in Hip-Hop history. He loved the fukk out of being sampled by Wu and they made every effort to pay him and proclaim his name for the inspirational artist he was. He credited RZA and Wu for giving him success his recording career never gave him and they're still showing him the respect back in this season through multiple episodes so far.

This is the epitome of what sample based Hip-Hop can bring to all artists involved and I hope everyone looks to the relationship of Syl Johnson & Wu-Tang as a template for what can be done to benefit multiple generations of music.

also... "oh...them ain't titties" :russ:

Deck really gets the short end of life. The flood, plus he didn't have a solo deal inked until like '96/'97. There was no real reason to put out Rae before Deck, other than Rae had already signed with Loud. They were both on the biggest single CREAM, so that trajectory would've carried both. Of course, once Rae dropped Cuban Linx, Ghost being the costar catapults him into being up next...and 5 albums in 2-3 years is a lot.

How things turn out for Deck, and the rest of the Clan if he drops in that first wave.

Deck also got overlooked because once he was signed to Rifkind Capadonna caught FIRE and he was signed directly to RZA, who had just inked a huge deal with Sony. So Cap was able to get an album out pretty quickly while Deck had to wait for Loud to be ready
