He co produced 5 joints on the beyonce album too. He produced on 4 of the biggest /best selling albums of 2013 and only on the coli is he not relevant.
this is all industry & pop chit.
nevermind.
You gotta realize though that it was downplayed as a "home invasion" attack. They left that other part out for obvious reasons. Only reason I found it out was through my cousin, who lived in Teaneck, NJ at the time.
What's crazy is, Jodeci unknowingly made a career move to avoid, what we all would later call, the Bad Boy death trap and still got caught in the end by another monster (Death Row) on some Final Destination shyt.
I never said they were signed. They were just around those negative elements surrounding both labels.jodeci was never signed to bad boy or death row
Listen, nothing wrong with biggin up Devante at all. And nothing wrong with admitting that Timbaland probably learnt a lot off of Devante. But Timbaland surpassed his teacher and that's that. Nothing unusual about it, it's exactly what's supposed to happen.
- Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience Pt. 1 debuted at #1 and became the biggest seller of 2013. That album was helmed by Timbaland
- Jay Z's Magna Carta debuted at #1 and was one of the biggest albums of 2013 also helmed by Timbaland
- Justin's 20/20 Experience Pt. 2 debuted at #1 also helmed by Timbaland
- Timbaland produced/co-produced three songs on Beyonce's new album and he had additional production on her current single
- "Holy Grail", "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors" were all Top 5 hits
^^^ What other producer accomplished that in 2013?
-Despicable Me 2 score- 3 original songs
-2 features on Daft Punk album- Get Lucky going 3X Platinum
-Man of Steel score contributor
-Spiderman 2 score contributor
-24 hour music video for "Happy"
-2013 Solo Productions: 2 Chainz - Feds Watchin'; Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines; IFHY - Tyler the Creator; Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix) - Weeknd; Get Like Me - Nelly; Twerk It - Busta Rhymes
-2013 Neptunes Productions: 4 songs on Miley Cyrus - Bangerz; 4 songs on Mayer Hawthorne - Where Does This Door Go; 3 songs on Kelly Rowland - Talk a Good Game; 4 songs on Nelly - M.O.; 2 songs on MNIMN - Pusha T; John Legend - Aim High
-7 Grammy nominations
Pharrell's defintitely a contender, but Pharrell's 2013 was more of an artistic high than just a producer. For example, he was featured on the Daft Punk songs, but wasn't a producer. The 24 hour video, again, is more of an achievement as an artist than it is a producer. Him scoring those movies is a big deal, but in that case, Pharrell has arguably the Top producer since around 2010 because he scored the first Despicable Me and he scored the music for the Oscars.
As far as his contributions to those albums, only "Blurred Lines" was bigger than what Timbaland was doing. That was a single song where Timbaland was co-producing hit albums. As far as the Grammys, Timbaland himself wasn't nominated, but several of the songs he produced were nominated and won.
how did he pass devante tho?
cuz he was around longer? cuz he crossed over?
he never reached the musical peaks that devante did. im sorry.
"Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky'' are the #1 and #2 songs of 2013 in any order you choose though, fam. I fukk with Timbo no doubt, but no one would tell you he ran 2013 over Pharrell..
By 1996, Timbaland was clearly ahead of Devante.
Aaliyah- One In A Million
Ginuwine- The Bachelor
Missy Elliott- Supa Dupa Fly
^^^ All albums that have been cited as game changers. Even if we were to negate Tim's R&B work with Aaliyah and Ginuwine, when was Devante ever as respected as Timbaland as a Hip Hop producer?
