WTF!!!! Taylor Swift’s album sold 2.5 million first week. And 1.8 million are pure sales.

And her image and songs are specifically aimed at the everyday white girl.
It be the same LOST NIKKAS that put Taylor Swift on a pedestal, that put Eminem on a pedestal.

Like 60% of America being white ain’t the driving force behind their elevated success

It’s “everything is race-related in America”
until it’s a white artist y’all like.

Then all of a sudden it’s:
NO-NO, WE COLORBLIND OVER HERE SUH :mjpls:

Right. It’s the same levels and racial gatekeeping as everything else in life. And this is no knock to Taylor. She appears to work hard and has a lane. But just like everything else, we have to uplift our own.

Even the discussion on her looks is missing the point. Why are people confused that white women relate to a rhythm less white woman who is slightly above average in looks and makes music about being dumped and unpopular? They love it because they understand it. It’s not much deeper than that. It’s just like the white director at your job thats ok but know a black person with a similar resume would have never gotten the job. But the difference is, do you take an extra stop to point out your Black manager as not being the most proficient, smart, qualified? Or do you just let them ride for being decent enough and happy to see a Black face? We spend a lot of time nit picking our artists if they aren’t perfect personally and professionally.
