Nah, kids just aren't interested in live action childrens comedy movies anymore, most box office receipt show it. Cartoons and CGI packed kiddie-action films are were it's at today, I suspect because kids nowadays are overstimulated due to constant television and video games.

You think kid's will not like a modern version of "Problem Child"?

I hope they would, I loved Problem Child. But most children's live action comedies bomb hard at the box office so studios aren't even putting the money up anymore.
It's all about money, that's the same reason we don't get big budget/big deal children's cartoons on networks anymore, because they're expensive to make and they producers aren't making the money back on toys anymore cause kids are more obsessed with video games and gadgets now.

it's over people.. i grew up in that era and yes i missed that shyt, but at least i have you-tube, the net and some stations that still show re-runs of sanford and son, fresh prince, martin and new york undercover and others..

I have grown to except that i will probably never see a lead black character on TV again unless it's a slave movie or a nikka dressed as a tranny :snoop:

But hey it's time to admit we all just got FLABBYANDSICK & SICKANDTIRED

The rap went to poo and then the spillover happened. There was still some black shows on but since Lil Jon had his moment in the sun, Soulja Boy too. This is what we get for not caring.

I miss seeing real Black people, black music and dancing and black comedy on tv. Seems like right after 1999/2000 everything got shutdown. It was like a new integration or something. Seems like all the new all Black TV programming is some extreme kooning.

:snoop:

People love attributing the downfall of black American culture to some elaborate racist conspiracy spearheaded by a mysterious cabal of Jewish bankers obsessed with social engineering. No one wants to live in reality and provide solutions, but instead, would rather be content with their misery and victimhood.

Why don't people become movie directors, music producers, or other 'behind-the-scenes' type job and try to wield some influence on the landscape of hollywood? Especially now with the enduring presence of social media (i.e.: like facebook, twitter, youtube) it should be easy to start something up with relatively low capital.

The same time as the Rock star era came to place.

Yo know damn well what e mean by c00ning and ghetto. I'm talking about black characters that use Ebonics, act shrill, and don't display all that much culture. The anti-Cosby type character. That's who hart and other so called black comedians like him act like. I don't want that image of black America broadcast. And if it means having less shows, but continued representation on other shows, so be it. That's a good thing. A lot of black entertainment has contributed to how other races feel about us. Until I see steady progressive depictions of black people in so called black entertainment, I won't care about it.
lol

:what:
I'm white because I want more theo huxtables on television and less martins?

:heh: you sound young. White people, by and large, are fine with us c00ning it up. The minute we put out entertainment that depicts us as intelligent, responsible, and productive members of society that our children can look up to, it's a wrap! They shut it down. Which means, out of desperation, many black actors and actresses gladly stoop to the level of gross caricature in order to find work. Dave Chapelle described just that when explaining why his show went off the air.
