Survive the drought
I'm not emotional breh. I'm just callin' you out on your BS. If any emotion, I'm feeling hilarity. You tried to present yourself as an authority and talk about something you didn't know about, as if the starting point of everything relevant to black culture was Pac and Big.I didn't tell anybody to stop doing anything, you getting way too emotional over this
I'm all for that spreading out and broading horizons stuff, but at the end of the day it's nice to have something of our own and brings me back home. I can watch Big Bang Theory and bump Daft Punk with no problem, but I also want to be able to turn on the tv and see a program that relates to the very core of what i am. Which goes back to the basis of what this thread is really about

And there are a lot of TV shows like that cater to black people; you just don't like them. And that's fine. But don't make it seem like there ain't no GOOD black shows and love to outwardly speak down on the ones we do have; then be surprised when we don't got shyt. You're opinion/relativity factor isn't the epoch of entertain nor are you the end all be all. That's some self-absorbed shyt to think the black community's in decline because you (a singular person or even a few as a group) can't find something on TV that's like you.
It's crazy that black people couldn't see their image on TV back in the day 50-60 years ago, but were estatic about even having TVs with very successful families and children. Today, you all seem to need the most coddling of all (TV shows, music, magazines, etc.) as a support system and still can't get shyt together. Stop worry about this dumb shyt.

That's my only problem with the rhetoric being spewed in here. I fully get the point about globalization (but that's happening to everyone, whites as well, and not a black thing so don't make that our community burden). Some of y'all are pretty much saying that only white people should be doing certain things when it comes to your mentality.
I guess only white people should be architechts, astronauts, doctors, scientists...because we black people is too cool for that!
Skateboarding? That's for white people.
Rock? That's for white people.
Jobs? Those are for white people!
Paying bills on time? That's for white people!
This sounds like some stupid "yessuh massuh" bullshyt.
Meanwhile black folks that do that stuff have to get called a barrage of names by OTHER BLACK PEOPLE just cause they like it...that's part of the problem.
Honestly, I've had my fair share of favorite black comedians, but anytime they got into anything like this it would just make me cringe.
Why must we devalue ourselves just to be accepted by the low end of the black spectrum and by white people who love to watch us disrespect ourselves to feel "superior" to us?
But most of the stuff in here just reads like "Black wanna be white", which makes no sense because there's nothing new under the sun the black community. Since we been able to do it post-Civil Rights movement, we been doin' it! Only people it's new to is those that don't know.
