My boi has too much pride but at the same time, I read the text messages and emails, he has alot of evidence on the manager for being disrespectful.

Btw they didn't offer him a severance package and demanded he returns the bonus money they gave him.

He was also loved by all the employees and was a really hard worker. They literally had nothing except for being late.

The thing is, all his coworkers come in late and he has the documentation for that.

I still kinda fail to see how he was wrongfully terminated...

Cause at the end of the day, if he woulda just showed up to work on time, he woulda still had a job....right?

The boss being disrespectful....thats unprofessional, but not illegal.

He hasnt been discriminated against. Instead, it sounds like he's mad he wasnt given any type of preferential treatment.

managers can be disrespectful doesn't mean anything, and its not illegal.
how many years has he been working there?

In washington state businesses may fire "at will." There are no laws regarding dismissal, so businesses are not required to give warnings or follow any particular steps.

like i said manager went to hr, hr went through everything prob with lawyers, your friend is SOL

and therse more

Paid vacation, holiday, and sick leave and severance pay are considered voluntary benefits that a business may choose to offer workers. Washington State law does not require a business to provide these benefits.

your friend is SOL.

I've seen it time and time again people think they have so many rights when there fired, its usually only small ass companies mom and pop stores who dont havea hr or lawyers and you can go after them

big companies and organizations are a sep ahead.

if m your friend im more concerned with getting a good reference but good luck with that manager

Just tell your friend to treat this job like a chick who just dumped you, "fukk that bytch and keep it moving." :birdman:There's nothing good that would come from trying to lawyer up, especially if they've documented some of the mistakes he made. He should use his energy to find a better job and eventually he'll look back and see his termination as a blessing in disguise. :manny:

I understand all ur points but hear me out on what caused the whole issue.

He was told to stay 1 hour late to finish a project, he finished and left. The manager assumed he never stayed and the next day started the process of writing him up.

All odds might be against him, but he should sue as a last resort. He doesn't have anything to lose.

This is why I can't wait to get my trucking business, I don't have to worry about some coward nerd being in charge of me and me being at his/her mercy.

When HR or his manager presented him with the write up, and he said, "I did stay late. Here's the work I completed, and heres a copy of my timecard that shows I clocked out an hour after my regularly scheduled shift" how did they respond?

So my friend felt he was being mistreated at work by his manager. All the cac employees were basically allowed to make mistakes like coming in late or calling in sick all the time with no consequence.

When the manager scolded him infront of all the employees for something he didn't do, he reached out to HR. The cacs in HR basically sided with the manager.

I told him to document everything 4 months ago just incase they were looking for excuses to terminate him.

Today he got fired without being written up or placed in an improvement plan (companies policy).

My coli brehs, how would u handle the situation?

Btw this is a HUGE fortune 500 company

Should I advice him to quickly get a lawyer??

He sypathizes with all shabab and had defended islamic terrorism even in his own country. Acts like he bout to join Isis while hiding in the comfort of the western world he claims to despise.

Yeah...the sad fact of the matter is that if you're a minority in the workplace you'll be held to a different standard.

Not to mention the atmosphere of the country right now and how petty some people are. His boss might be a Tea Party member that's mad about Obama or about these confederate flags being taken down and takes it out on his black subordinate...it's fukked up but that type of thing happens all the time. And if you're in an at-will state, there's not much you can do.

That's why I always advise black people (and other minorities) to peep game when you start a job. After a couple of months you should know if you're wanted there or not, and if it's the case that they don't really want you there in the first place then leave asap. In the long run nothing comes from sticking around at a company where they're looking for an excuse to get rid of you. I know it's hard to find a job but still.
