2023 ALONE is better than any year in the PS4/Xbox One era

Quite frankly, we were better off in the PS3/Xbone/Wii era which imo peaked gaming as Sony was making movies, Xbox was doing its online thing, Nintendo was plowing shyt and racking racks, while PC gaming hit apex levels of dope

Ying to the yang. While the gaming industry was thriving, the PS3 was Sony's blackeye (despite it being my favorite gaming console period), 360 and its red ring and introducing the exclusive deals, and Nintendo's non fukks given with quality control. Don't get me started with horse armor
. Yet, on the real it was probably one of the best times of my life gaming wise. I remember having more of a social aspect during sessions, versus nowadays where I convinced most of the players online are bots. The immersion is lacking and gaming in general is soulless as hell.

The greatest game of all time only dropped last year.on one hand, there have been zero generation defining games released so far
on the other hand, i'm playing more games now than ever before because of my extensive backlog

In terms of AAA games it's all going downhill. Cost are exploding and less risk will be taken as a result. Obviously there will be good titles released but generation defining games that leave their mark on gaming will be few and far between.
For consoles yes but PC no. PC has had the best exclusives this generation by far plus the introduction of mobile PC gaming
