You can make real money in the indies with less expenses, less injuries, less work schedule

Its a different time breh..... Being a midcarder in the E is like being an NBA allstar in on a garbage team.... just wasting they prime life away

I don't think you understand just how little 90% of the independent guys make. for every big name (former WWE star) commanding a couple thousand dollars per indie show, there are countless others struggling just to get booked. most of them are lucky to work maybe 4 shows a month for a few hundred dollars per show and the large majority of them have part time or even full time jobs during the week just so they can pay their bills.

it's easy to sit back as a fan and say that you would prefer to work outside of the WWE because of more time off, more creative control, or whatever. however the reality is that being a professional wrestler is a ridiculously hard business to make money in and a short career span. the overwhelming majority of these guys would jump at the opportunity to make $200-500k a year jobbing on Smackdown.

My thoughts exactly. It would suck not being able to be in the main event or whatever but making that money and the exposure will help. Take for example Fandango. When he's eventually released from the WWE he can get booked at a indy event and collect a bigger check being billed as "former WWE superstar" which will attract a few more people. You have people like Honky Tonk Man who haven't been relevant in over twenty years still able to collect a decent payout on shows because of that WWE experience.

Don't know if this has been said. but ROH main eventers make as much as midcard WWE wrestlers, and have to work way less dates, and can work extra on the side of they want. Pretty easy choice
:patrice: IDK breh, if that was the case AJ, Joe, & Aries would've probably stuck around.

In most cases when guys turn down WWE like The Briscoes it was a NXT deal instead of a main roster deal.

Mid-Carder all day.

A former WWE Mid-Carder could headline most indie promotions.

Not all indie-headliners can make it into the WWE mid-card.

I'd probably try and get my ass into developmental support as soon as humanly possible so I can slow down on the touring and bumping though - can't imagine many jobs better than that Scouse guy training NXT talent alongside Regal.:smugbiden:

Or personal Bayley shower/laundry assistant. I'd do that ahead of making a PWG debut.:whoo:

Right now though, I'd take a leave of absence from any position in the E and 6 months in traction to try ONE LEAP off the top of Dario Cueto's office in The Temple.:gladbron:

Maybe man. I read that they paid AJ more than usual. Not sure about Joe or Aries. But I know I read somewhere that top guys in ROH are making more than some main roster guys

I feel ya, but still, they work year-round and are rarely home. There's retired wrestlers who always talk about how they missed out on their kids' lives nshyt, there's wrestlers who've left because they needed to be with their families, etc... they barely live in them houses, breh. Some of 'em probably have nice homes cause they chose to spend their money that way, but it's not far fetched to believe there's some who don't choose to- especially if they don't have kids. I doubt Uso and Naomi are having deep convos about how they gonna pay the bills next month and still have enough to eat.

a ONE bedroom tho?
