It appears that for WWE, it doesn't depend on who it is. It was fukking Eugene. People in this thread making it seem like they'd only help out people on Cena, Orton, Rollins level.

the question is, would you rather be a wwe midcarder or an indie main eventer.

theres no option for wwe main eventer or indy curtain-jerker.

would any of the indie promotions pay for his shoulder surgery if he was their headliner last week, you goof?

Just for argument's sake... What if they only paid for Eugene's because it occurred when he was a WWE employee not an independent contractor?

A better question would be, can anyone find a definitive example with receipts of a time when WWE didn't pay for a surgery of one of their independent contractors when the injury occurred as a result of wrestling for WWE? I bet they even paid when Orton jobbed to the trash can

Dudes, telling me that Dean Ambrose is main eventing PPVs and is only making $80,000, while working 300 days a year?

fukk that, if you're a MAIN EVENT level indy guy (Japan, TNA, ROH) then you're making more than most WWE midcarders and you're not working 300 days a year, killing yourself for an assclown like Vince McMahon.

It's crazy how fukked up the WWE is.

In every other field, it's usually, you make MORE and work a better schedule once you hit the big time, but in WWE, you make LESS and work a WORST schedule, just because you get to be on TV.

You know how embarrassing it'd be if dudes in the CBA were making more than NBA All-Stars?

I really wish WCW didn't go out of business or Vince wouldn't be able to get away with that type of bullshyt.

Then, they're responsible for their own travel and expenses and even medical? Really?

All WWE does is brag about the billions they make and yet their talent is paid like shyt.

And let me say this, and I know it's not going to be popular, but John Cena is massively underpaid.

There's nobody else in our culture who's that famous, sells that much merchandise, yet only makes about 2.7 million dollars a year (well other than NCAA athletes, which is it's own form of exploitation).

I mean, dude is the biggest star of a company that sells out venues all over the world 300 days a year and he only makes about $3 mil?

That's crazy.

Dude's more of a draw than 99% of the dudes in the NBA making 10 mil.

Other than LeBron, Steph, Kobe, I can't see to many people packing stadiums more than Cena, even as hated as he is.

From
2016 WWE Wrestlers Salaries & Contract Details

I think this may be either 2014 or 2015 salaries and not up to date, based on financial statements.

Looking at it some more, it's accurate, but I think 2013.

Some of these salaries are hilarious. Divas working for peanuts....:wow:

Anyways...I'd rather make my own schedule as an indie, but I'm assuming that we're talking like, superstar indie. The types that can go to Japan and Mexico and shyt and eat.

I just can't see myself ever enjoying having like, 150+ matches in a year, and still being looked at as "mid card", in a company.

I dunno, with more information I might change my views. Maybe I just romanticize the "indie" lifestyle too much, and over-exaggerate the bs the WWE puts you through....most probably prefer WWE for a reason, but that might just be that they prefer dependable security to freedom/hustling.

The list is way outdated and has a lot of inaccuracies.

cena doesn't pack anything. the wwe brand packs the shows. hes just the main guy being pushed.

cena actually did the opposite and was one of the dudes who helped chase away a lot of loyal wwe consumers.

theres no real draws in wrestling right now.

You could argue that people come to watch The Lakers or The Yankees and don't come to see individuals either, but the people wearing Kobe or Jeter jerseys say otherwise, and the thousands of kids wearing all the new Cena merch say that they're coming to see him.

Yeah, there's namebrands, but individuals draw fans too.
