burger king and wendys are doing just fine! so is in-and-out and jack in the box! MickeyD's CEO...that brotha named DON didn't know what he was doing and got the boot! But Mickey D's does have good profit margins and cash on hand so they can turn it around.

Funny thing Chipotle is high calorie...burrito be over 1000cal for me and god forbid i want chips and salsa. calories in calroies out and I consumer less calories at MickeyD's. McDoanalds issue is the expense for less quality....i spend less at chipotle.

It's not even healthier places. People are going to places like Applebees and Olive Garden over McDonalds. The cost is the same but the food and expense are better.

McDonald's prices are really what are killing them. If they cut prices in half or w/e I think people could put up with them but as is they want too much.

I remember growing up even in canada and every day mcdonalds had a special on a burger every day for 1.99 (burger king does it but i hate burger king)

so as a kid in hs monday id get lke a quarter pounder sandwich for 1.99, i think thursday was 6 nuggets for 1.99 tc. and that was worth it

now with these prices?

im not paying nearly ten bucks for a crappy burger a drink and a fries, and many times the lineup is so long, hell i can go to this Portuguese chicken place near my house and get potatoes and a big ass piece of chicken fresh for under ten

lower the prices and i'll be back, unless i get coupons in the mail i don't really mess with mcdonalds.

Even their breakfest combos up here in canada are pushing near 5 bucks.

mcdonalds fries when fresh are still the goat in some circles but i agree
mcdonalds burgers are trash - harveys has better burgers to me

wendys does have better chicken and better chicken nuggets and a better cheeseburger

not really. The menu overseas is what the people want...i heard japan Mickey D's got the bomb terryaki burgers from a lot of sources! Mickey D's took the USA for granted.

Plus Mickey D's got places you don't even know it's them they use to experiment overseas. USA got the worse Mickey D's.

it's easy to go to McDonalds....especially in Maryland which is the chain food capital of the world and in the 90's we pushed out the small guys like jack in the box and roy rogers (they brought a couple back over the last 10yrs) and left Mcdonalds on every other corner in the suburbs and a few burger kinds and wendys mixed in .

One county...howard county is pretty much all chain restaurants especially in columbia. And in b-more county in owings mills we got like a shopping center full of chain restaurants across from the mall.

If the fast food joints returned to end of the 90s prices all of this would be a moot point. The fast food prices are now at the level of some of these other joints and folks are saying that if they are gonna spend such and such amount of dollars they might as well eat at such and such restaurant.
