precisely this, my middle name is igbo what most people do for their first name though is to usually give the child a religious name that relates to a saint or some kind of virtue, i think me and my sister are the first in our family to have broken this norm my mom gave us straight english names.

That's so true; I think that's the case for all of my siblings and cousins. Are you Igbo or do you just have an Igbo name?
