At least they got the interview. Some hiring firms and managers see 'black sounding' names on applications and resumes then they throw them aside or trash them. Housing applications are the same as well.
Not really! I would want the last name to be my own; and allow the middle name to be named by the mother. I doubt a African name would match the middle or last name.

All the women in my family have African/Arabic names like Jamila, Kharima, Fatimah and So on. I rather like these names on women. Not very fond of the names for dudes tho. Dwoud, jamal, saleem and Ahmed like my uncles and grandfather sound so

I plan on it, but it's not just my choice. I'm sure the father will be fine with it, at least the middle if not.
