Would Peyton Manning winning a SB this year make him the GOAT without question?

I absolutely hate these Vince McMahon inspired manufactured stakes! If he's not the GOAT now, one playoff run isn't gonna make him GOAT. :mindblown: Beyond that there's not guarantee that just because they win that he will play that well (see 06). Conversely he could play well and they could still lose (see 10, 09, 08, 07).

No, he didn't outplay him. Go look at their stats when Brady had a lead and then just handed the ball off for the rest of the game to put it away. Peyton started putting up numbers against a prevent defense. Peyton stans outside of like one person routinely make the worst points on this board. It's like your goal is to ruin all the good will we al had towards Peyton at the beginning of the season.

Brady has outplayed Peyton in every game they have played since that playoff win.

This nikka here be doing crazy research to validate his Brady stan card. :pachaha:

Go break down how the Patriots defense weren't effective enough on 2nd down plays when Peyton beat them to go to the ship. I'm sure you have an explanation. :heh:

Besides this being the actual opposite from the truth, you're just gonna act like the 34-14, 4th-and 2 epic chokejob by the Patriots didn't also happen in this period to the Colts/Manning?

2 of the biggest chokejobs in NFL history in a span of a few years to the same team :takedat:

He has more rings than Montana and Brady...so he's better right? This is your whole argument, am I correct?

Ya and Bradshaw stats are shyt whats your point. Hence the Trent reference. We are talking about greats with the stats to back. Where the deciding facts are rings for the most part. B/c the stats are splitting hairs at this point.

And Bradshaw does not have more rings then Montana. Correct your post.

People say this often, but they never bring a great reason besides

"He calls his own plays", he flaps his arms/yells things at his oline/ recievers and well "Espn says so"

Even with a SB peyton wouldn't have the best resume. We can argue that he will be the all time leader in most categories but that's due to compiling numbers over time. He doesn't have the best numbers from a game to game or season to season basis. His GOAT level 04 season was surpassed by Brady's GOAT level 2007' season. In the postseason, guys like Montana, Warner, And brady all have better game to game numbers then him. He's top 5 but I just don't see the GOAT stuff.

This is interesting though when looking at the playoffs

Postseason Records for quarterbacks when their team gives up 21 or less points:

Dan Marino 7-1

John Elway 10-1

Tom Brady 14-2

Joe Montana 12-2

Steve Young 4-1

Brett Favre 11-1

Bart Starr 8-1

John Unitas 6-2

Terry Bradshaw 13-2

Bob Griese 6-2

Roger Staubach 11-4

Fran Tarkenton 6-2

Troy Aikman 10-1

Ben Roethlisberger 6-0

Peyton manning 6-6

One of these things is not like the other :aicmon:

It's time to start having that discussion.....
has any QB (not to mention one at his level) ever been put in a similar situation and performed like he has this year? :wow:

Could this be the greatest year a QB has ever had when taking in account outside circumstances? :whew:

Not without question, but anyone who thinks so would have a pretty decent argument.

Being mentally handicapped is good for one ring. So yes he does have more than Brady and Montana....

That said. Bradshaw > Brady/Montana who cares if they have better stats?

Who cares if Manning has better stats than Brady?
