If he ramped up his scoring and expanded his range, yeah, he'd be #2 behind Steph.

A younger CP3 is better than him. Luka might be in a few years if he improves that defense to a respectable level.

One thing that I will say is that John isn't gonna be the player that he was then if he played now. His defense wouldn't translate that much because the 10th best Point Guard in the league can sauté you like you were a journeyman.

I don't see how you can't make a case for Stockton. Actual point guard on top of an efficient shooter. All time assists and steals leader by around 1K or more each category. Made the playoffs every year of his career too as far as I know.

You don't get all those accolades not being a Top 3 PG.
