Stockton would do fine playing today. Some mentions of Chris Paul so compared their 17th year:

Chris Paul
FG% - 47.3%
3PT - 32.2%
Rebounds - 4.3
Assists - 9.9
Steals - 1.9
Points - 13.9

John Stockton
FG% - 51.7%
3PT - 32.1%
Rebounds - 3.2
Assists - 8.2
Steals - 1.9
Points - 13.4

Coupled with what other players who have actually played against him said.

THAT WAS STOCKTONS 18TH SEASON...

39 YRS OLD WITH A 38 YR MALONE

WHILE CP3 HAS PRIME BOOKER/AYTON.

ehh he would still be very productive. But most def isn't a top 3 PG. Not even top 5. And that's more so because the game now is more up and down and 3 pt shooting based and it seems as if teams are more threatening with a scoring PG which he will not be.

Right

Dude was fukking solid his entire basketball career.

How about the durability , only missed 22 games over 19 years
John Stockton Played 82 Games 16 Times In His Career

His vision was like gretzky on the court

how would a guy like this struggle today :dahell:

wasn't there a story bout the Utah scoring table cooking the books for Malone and Stockton?

Fam…

that shyt is literally unbelievable. 22 games in 19 seasons…:ohhh::whoo::mindblown:

and he could take you off the dribble, pull up from mid range or deep, or dish it off to Malone. You never knew what the fukk he was going to do. And he was locking cats the fukk up!

these cats have got to put some respect on Stockton‘s name…:damn::damn::damn:

The way the current league relies on the pick and roll he might be a top advanced analytics PG just off that
He was solid enough shooting the mid range and you have to give him the benefit of the doubt that he would have a 3 point game if currently playing
Combine that with the fact he could navigate better as a small less athletic guy cause of the no hand checking rule and he'd be in the discussion I'd think

Which teams with a scoring PG are more threatening. Matter of fact, how many scoring PG are there? Then how many are on winning teams?

steph, garland, luka?, Murray, Westbrook, Russell, Irving, dame, fox, van fleet, trae, schroder, lamelo, Maxey, . I probably mixed a few. Of those some of them are PGs on currently winning teams. I probably missed a couple this was off the head. Jrue holiday and Brogdon could have an argument made also.

Straight from Flatbush
SCORING PGS DIDNT
BECOME THE STANDARD UNTIL
LAST DECADE.

STOCKTON DIDNT TAKE
A LOT OF SHOTS BECAUSE
THAT WASNT WHAT A PG
WAS SUPPOSED TO DO.

I REMEMBER GUYS LIKE
ROSE BEING MALIGNED
WHILE GUYS LIKE RONDO WERE PRAISED.

HOW QUICK WE FORGET...

ONCE UNDERSIZED SGs LIKE STEPH
GOT POPULAR AMONGST
THE MEDIA, PGS PLAYING
LIKE TRADITIONAL PGS
DIDNT MATTER ANYMORE.

PUT STOCKTON IN THIS ERA
AND HES TAKING MORE SHOTS.

SAME FOR NASH.
