Not much to explain.

We certainly have the physical space to support 50 billion people. We also have the capacity to provide food, water, clothing, shelter, and medicine to 50 billion people.

Of course this is predicated on a significant organizational shift in society.

next time, spare yourself the extra words and just type "i can't."

Don't be so pessimistic.

If you think you can, or think you cant, either way you are correct.
Realistic optimism > delusion

Saying we can support 50 billion in 2015 is delusion.

50 billion does not equal 7 billion. It does not equal 11 billion. It does not equal 15 million. It does not equal 20 billion.

Saying we can support 50 billion in 2015 is delusion.

What we CAN do (what we are capable of), and what we WOULD do (what is the most likely course of action), are two very different things.

CAN we support 50 billion people on this planet? Of course.

Would we support 50 billion people? is a different question.
